Cad Bistro and Hotel.
Our review refers to the bistro only.
A very nice location and playground set up for children. Ample parking.
Indoor and outdoor seating are spacious and well set up.
Upon arrival it is unclear if table service or order at counter because both ignore you until you raise your voice at them. To clarify it is table service. But the place is so understaffed you have to wait 10-15 mins when it's mostly empty.
Waiter does not "say hello".
Asked the waiter, "do you have toast?" Response was "no". Asked "do you have bread?" Response was "yes". Followed by an awkward silence.
Food platter arrived almost immediately and is relatively nice, although it is not all that fresh - quite possibly prepared the previous day since it is near frozen cold.
Waited well over 20 minutes for coffees and cake which were already sliced in the cabinet.
Cakes are not very tasty, very sweet but not other flavors. Gozdne sadeze cake.
Coffee on the bitter side. But ok in the context of other Slovenian establishments.
Certainly overpriced for the level of service and quality...
Will give you another chance in a couple of months... But only because we have enjoyed Gostilna Cad for...
Read moreI've made a reservation in hotel Čad because it seemed that it is quiet area in Tivoli park. But noise from (christmas?) parties thar were happening in the hotel restaurant and bistro by the hotel was unbeareable. Loud music, drunk people shouting below balconies. And cherry on the top, when I almost fall asleep a band with drums started playing in front of the hotel, and even when they've entered in the bistro, the noise was still extremly loud. You should close the hotel just for the guests which are attending these parties. It's to expensive to pay for this hotel and then get bothered all night without getting any rest. If you're here for business and need some rest, I'm afraid it's not the right place. Also, I heard men in the room next to my romm snooring, so sound isolation is nonexistable. Breakfast was good giving the fact that is was a la carte so it's limited and you have to wait al least 15 minutes. Waiter and cleaning lady were very polite. Rooms are modern and clean. Staff on the reception doesn't show any interests for the guests, I wasn't even asked at the check out if my stay in their...
Read moreThe rooms here are absolutely impeccable, clean, smart, cool, silent air conditioning, reasonable mini bar, complimentary, water, chili are and toiletries. Very warm welcome, staff approachable and friendly couldn’t do enough. Parking convenient. It’s a 15/20 minute walk into town, but if you want the castle it’s around 40 minutes walk as you need to get accross town. However a taxi to the castle is only 8 euros, coming back it was so hot 35 degrees we were at the old town and it was only 4 euros. The walk is through the park if you choose to walk, very pretty. There is a bistro at the hotel, serving snacks and drinks or a la carte. The hotel so has a Resteraunt next door set in a beautiful garden. Food is average. Breakfast here is a la carte and is from 7am, I would say the breakfast is what let the hotel down the most, we had to have breakfast at 7am due to having to leave early, the staff were still vacuuming and the chef not best pleased at cooking an early breakfast and we were served cold uncooked sausages. I would stay here again, as rooms and staff top notch, I’d just avoid the...
