Gypsy Mediterranean — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

My favorite little cozy hideaway in Richmond Hill. I went out on a little solo date. I had a lovely Double-Shot Cappuccino and the Hake and Calamari Stripes for Mains. Coffee was made with care and was nice and rich. The meal was delicious, the hake flaky and the side salad fragrant and fresh. The calamari was slightly over, but well seasoned. For dessert I had their Sticky Toffee Pudding and that paired eith the vanilla ice cream was the highlight of my evening. Definitely recommend it, though be sure to bring some friends along as the restaurant does not have the loveliest atmosphere during weekdays....

A wonderful waiter and front of house young man. Wish I had gotten his name! Delicious falafel pita! Really tasty and fresh. The pita bread is fabulous. Light and not stodgy or overly thick. UPDATE: The front of house man Jeff is now the owner!! What a wonderful man and the falafel pita is as good as ever! I am extremely disappointed with my recent order from Gypsy Shawarmas and Fish through Uber Eats. My food arrived in an appalling condition, with everything spilled out of the packaging. If the Uber Eats delivery driver had shown more care with the package on the back of their motorcycle, this wouldn't have happened. Additionally, the condition of the driver's motorcycle and helmet raises serious concerns about roadworthiness and safety. This experience was unacceptable, and I expect better from both the restaurant...
