Sanook Cafe — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

I made reservations at Sanook Berea on Dec 3 for my birthday Saturday 5 Dec...Great Expectations after being recommended by several people. And we love good authentic pizzas. I was impressed when being phoned the Saturday morning by the Management to confirm I booking..I repeated my request for a nice table since being a special occasion...We arrived at 18.25 for our 18.30 reservation...no table was ready...the staff had to scrape and re-arrange a table and chairs for us to be seated? We ordered a grand pizza with lots of different cheeses...and rocket. Well, the rocket covered the whole base of the pizza which was rock hard and dry at the edges with very little actual ingredients. But it was nice. But that was all. Went to Sanook East London. After calling and making a booking for an outside table, they placed us nxt to the hot kitchen . We asked to be seated outside. They gave us a seat nxt to the door but you could still feel the heat from the kitchen . Another group of three white people rocked up after us, she offered them the same table, they like us asked for an outside table, she gladly give them an outside table after refusing to offer us the table . The manageress was rude after visiting this place for years. This time ordering a Steelworks, the excluded key ingredients and became argumentative twice and being rude. This lady clearly acted out her racist attitude & beliefs. Will never ever return to...

The outside doesn’t do the inside any justice, the ambiance and vibe is nice, the food is well presented and tastes good however the service is extremely slow, once we ordered it was at least 30mins before anyone came to our table to check in on us and if they knew it takes awhile for the pizzas to get done, we could have been given the option to receive the other meals first since our pizza was not a main and wanted to try it because we heard good things about it. The inside is very hot and the tables are quite close to each other so it can be quite noisy depending on...
