Wimpy — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

I only give one star,to be able to give a review.Circumstances could've changed in the mean time,but the day we visited,was a very bad experience.First of all,the place was extremely hot.There was a "overnight"smell hanging in the air.We had to wait for our table,to sit by the window,for a view of the sea,as the table wasn't cleaned up yet.There were a few empty tables and also other sea-view tables,but this one was the cleanest,of the available seatings.At that stage,we already wanted to leave,but my grandson convinced us to stay,because he collected the toys,they hand out,with the "kiddies-meal" We decided to give it a go and ordered.The cutlery was put on the table,quite a while,before we received our food and my husband had to send his back,as his fork was dirty.Our fruit juices were warm and the fries tasted of old oil.The food didn't represent the images,as advertised on the menu.I couldn't touch my food after this.The waitstaff were all standing around,chatting away,while the tables were still dirty.We paid,got up and left.That's when we discovered Guidos-Quigney,just across the street from their,next to the Kenna way hotel.That's why it looks like we stayed at the hotel and surrounding places.Well,even if they replace the staff completely,or the menu,I'll never go back to this specific...

Delicious meals, great atmosphere, wonderful ocean views that sets it apart from all other Wimpys. I've always enjoyed my meals at this Wimpy, whether it's Breakfast or Lunch. The staff is always eager to serve with a smile. Great service every time.

The main thing that sets it apart for me is its location on the Esplanade. It has become an iconic place similar to Steers in on Oxford. This Wimpy has become the place to meet for people coming from all over the Eastern Cape Province and even other of the country.

Staff professional and on point we phone our order in so we don't have to wait to long so service was tops food well presented now this is my true opinion chicken was well cooked jucy but had a off taste chips and calamari was tops drinks coke fine but bar one shake had to much cream and pieces of bar one to hard like it come out the fridge. Takeaway ask for plain burger got a piece of cheese on don't really mind but roll not fresh at all patty over cooked don't fancy bic piece of lettice on burger look sloppy so burger not nice at all. Will I go to Wimpy...
