Most Indian restaurant were shut on Diwali, Biryani Hut was one of the few that was open and that’s why we ended up eating there for the first time.
The food had some hits and misses, but service was extremely slow. I suspect it was because of a rush of Diwali orders, but I will have to visit again to be sure.
We were so hungry by the time that the main course arrived, that I didn’t take any pictures of it 😁
The hara Bhara kebab was lovely, the chicken reshmi kebab was more like a malai tikka and was a tad dry.
The paneer kulcha and aloo paratha were quite nice and the dal makhni was excellent. But the kali Mirch chicken was more of a korma with a tiny sprinkle of black pepper on top. Not at all what I was expecting.
Given how much time the food was taking, I did not try their biryani, but maybe if we venture here again,...

Read moreI dont know whats happened to this place, but when they first opened it was a damn fine Biryani.....howeverhaving ordered a take-away today, i wouldnt give it a 2 out of 10, the rice in the biryani was old and stodgy, clearly from a bunch that was left over from lord knows when, and the garlic naan was flavoured with old rancid garlic that made it inedible. i wont be going back I'm afraid especially when you're paying over R200...
