Marlboro Peri Peri Chicken Tikka, Halaal ,Rivonia — Restaurant in Gauteng

I recently had a meal at this restaurant and overall, it was a satisfying experience — especially when it comes to the food. Everything we ordered tasted fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavour. The chips were particularly delicious — crispy, golden, and just the right amount of seasoning. You could tell they were made fresh and not from a packet. The bread was also a standout: soft on the inside, nicely baked, and clearly homemade. It was warm and comforting, perfect with the rest of the meal.

Although the food took a little while to arrive, the quality made the wait worthwhile. It’s clear the kitchen focuses on preparing each meal with care, and I’d definitely rather wait a few extra minutes for something that tastes this good than be served something rushed or microwaved.

The seating is comfortable — I especially liked the couches, which were paired with black granite tables. However, it’s worth noting that there’s only one row of couches, which can’t accommodate more than six people sitting together. This setup works fine for small groups or individuals, but it may not be ideal if you're coming with a larger party and want to sit together.

As for the atmosphere, it reminded me of a traditional Indian restaurant — functional, modest, and clean, but not overly modern or trendy. It may not be the type of place you'd linger for long, but it serves its purpose if you're coming mainly for the food.

Very very dishonest staff! Had ordered 1kg desi chicken Karahi which should have been prepared in an hour. Normally their chicken karahi is good. But they forgot to prepare the food even after 2 hours, and to cover up their story they took a short cut to prepare. Boiled the chicken in pressure cooker and added spices. It tasted horrible and the chicken was smelling and we could easily pick up that it was over boiled. The worst part it is, when confronted, restaurant staff/ waitress gave a story that they had to cook chicken for 2 hours because they were using a different kind of chicken with a hard flesh.
