Eagle Spear Spur Halaal — Restaurant in Gauteng

I recently had the unfortunate experience of having breakfast at the Spur in Trade Route, and I must say, it was one of the worst experiences I've EVER had. From the moment we walked in, everything seemed to go downhill.

Several members of my party, including myself, fell ill after consuming the food. It was evident that the ingredients used in our meals were not fresh, and the lack of proper food handling and storage procedures was apparent.

The waiting staff at the Spur were equally disappointing. Not only were they inattentive, but they also seemed disinterested in providing a satisfactory experience. Our orders were consistently delayed, and it took an unreasonable amount of time for our food to arrive. When we tried to address our concerns with the staff, they were dismissive and unapologetic, showing a complete lack of professionalism.

Considering the unpleasant experience and the health risks associated with eating at the Spur in Trade Route, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment to anyone. The poor hygiene standards, unprofessional waiting staff, and overall experience make it clear that the management of this restaurant needs to seriously reevaluate their practices. There are far better options available in the area, and I strongly advise potential diners to explore those...

My mother, sister, sister in law were here on Saturday evening (21 Dec 2024) for dinner, and after being seated they had to wait for about 30-45 min for a waiter to come serve them. My mother requested to see the manager who only decided to come see to her customers after they had had their meal to ask “is everything okay”. Utterly disappointing… Anyway my family decided to pay and leave the establishment because it didn’t seem like their complaints were valid. As if that was not enough my sister decided to take us out again to the same place for some waffles on 22 December 2024. Now listen we ordered 3 classic waffles, then after the fact decided to order a waffle my little one… what amazes us is my daughter’s waffle arrived simultaneously with mine even though the three classic waffles were ordered first. Only find my daughter’s waffle to be stale while the others were evidently fresh. Disappointed is not even close to describing how I was feeling. The thought that also came to mind immediately was that the stale waffle was purposefully given to my baby because kids would not easily know when something was stale or not. I will never recommend this spur and will never be setting foot...

Ordered the chedamelt steak special(medium) for takeaway. Waited 34 minutes even tho the store only had a handful of customers. On inspection before leaving the store found the steak to be already cold!! Seems like it was sitting there for some time until I enquired! If hadn't I'm sure I would have waited for much longer. The waiter forgot to get the butter and sour cream. I insisted that I will rather eat in store and just to bring me a plate. He insisted he takes it back to put it on a plate. This took 10mins, ten long minutes just to put food on a plate!!! That's not all, I specified the steak be made medium, instead it was burnt to a crisp! Hungry I forced myself to eat and couldn't finish it. It had to be the most sickening experience eating steak. The manager apologiesd and offered to credit my vouchers or give me a refund. It's one thing to apologise and give a refund but it doesn't solve the issue with your ongoing pathetic service! You won't find me eating here again! Ugh...
