Fishaways — Restaurant in Gauteng

Absolutely zero manners at the Parkview branch. Forgot my order totally. Upon asking in a civilised manner what the hold up was after 20 minutes wait for calamari (gave my order to someone else), the staff barely speak to you, ignore you when you ask what the issue is, and do not even apologise. I guess that’s what you come to expect with the Fishaways brand.

The food is well overpriced when compared to other alternatives. The volume of food vs. Price is minimal (stingy at best). Taste: incredibly bland to the point that the oil has more flavour.

It is time Fishaways wakes up or closes down. It has fast become one of the worst takeout choices money can buy. Spar calamari from the canteen is better value.

Worst service ever! Ordered and paid for 2 x trio meals for delivery. Fishaways only prepared and gave 1 meal to deliver guy. When I phoned, Juan said sorry mistake was theirs but they can’t deliver the meal that shorted. My husband went to fetch it and when he got home order was again not complete. We phoned Juan again, he said sorry, nothing he can do. We would have to drive to Parkview again (second time) to fetch it. So we paid for delivery plus tip and we had to drive out petrol to get the rest of our food and paid for food we didn’t even completely receive! Only with a promise from Juan, nothing in writing, that we could get extra side next time we ordered something from them. Horrible service from...

The reasons for my 1 star review are: I was given less change than what was due. We bought a sharing for 2 platter for R219.90 but there was not enough chips for 2 people. When we complained to the manager about the amount of chips- she said that this was their portion size and even proceeded to remove a bag of onion rings from our delivery bag that was supposedly wrongly given to us. The lemon butter is disgusting- it is clearly cheap margarine with a bit of lemon juice and yet they proceed to sell it for R9.90 per 100ml. The fish was cold.
