My daughter saw Petit Fours at the Irene branch. It was wrapped so I did realise that it would not be as fresh as I would have preferred but they wanted it because it was pink with Christmas decorations on it so I decided to buy it. It was marked down. They wanted to eat it immediately so I opened it up and gave each one. Oh my gosh, you could kill someone, it was so old, it was hard as a rock. I immediately took it back. The manager apologised which I accepted. As I was walking out, she gave me chocolate croissants that were also wrapped. She explained that it was done that morning and that it would be fresh. We did not eat it because I was so disgusted by the Petit Fours. Later, when we were at home, the girls came to ask if they could get some as they love croissants. They brought it back to me where I was working in the study, it was so hard that you could not even bite into it. That Fournos has this policy to sell their "old products" is a damn shame. I would not even give it away for free. I have not been so humiliated in my life. My daughters wanted the Petit Fours because they looked pretty, not because I could not afford to purchase them. I honestly have not been treated this badly in my life. Maybe do not try to offload bad products onto unsuspecting clients and further humiliate them. Update: I got an email asking for more information but nobody has gotten back to me yet. UPDATE: I received a call from the manager at Fournos, Kelly. She apologised and provided us with a platter. The food was nice and I am happy that Kelly did reach out to me regarding our experience. I have been a client of Fournos for years and years and in general, the food is of...
Read moreFirst time visitor here two days ago. I ordered a chicken and mushroom quiche with chips (I rarely have chips, so this was an exception), and filter coffee.
Service: good; friendly and pleasant waiter (thank you, Richard) 🌟 Venue: very clean and hygienic; well maintained; fairly pleasant ambiance 🌟 Quiche and chips: very disappointing, unfortunately; bland; tasteless; quiche didn't come across as fresh; barely any mushrooms inside; mostly dry bits of chicken and excessively "eggy"; I honestly think it's the worse quiche I ever had :( Presentation of dish: was a good indication of what to expect from the dish - tasteless, bland, with zero imagination; absolutely no effort with garnishing, whatsoever; I lost my appetite even before the first (tasteless) bite :( Coffee: no aroma, poor taste/flavour; was it even fresh? :(
Overall, I regretted going there. Felt like a waste of my time and money. :(
I'm really sorry about this one star review and the sad feedback (I prefer giving full marks and happy reviews). My wish is for the owner to take this feedback at heart and improve on above (and hopefully attract more customers, as it was very quiet and empty)....
Read morei dont often go to Pretoria but I do frequent Fournos Bakery throughout Johannesburg an have come to the conclusion that this is personally my favourite store I have visited. The shop is immaculate and even though its a smaller shop does not feel as cramped as the others. I love coffee and somehow because of the environment my Cappucino was amazing. I might consider driving to this shop just for the coffee. The Managers checked on me regularly and I felt completely attended to as opposed to being neglected on my visits to previous stores in the Johannesburg area.
I can confidently say that that experience I had at Fournos Irene Mall was of the utmost accommodating as I usually am on my own.
I commend the entire Staff for making my day brighter and will definitely recommend this to all my Business Associates. Exceptional and extremely...
