La Parada Irene Village — Restaurant in Gauteng

I wish I could give this place lower rating. This establishment is a disgrace to food and drink businesses. Sat waiting for 2 hours for a mother's day lunch and didn't receive any food at all. Literally got up and left. I will never and will tell everyone I know to never ever support this venue. Destroyed mother's day lunch. 0 service 0 explanation no care for patrons. Up until we walked out, they still couldn't give us a reason for the food delay. Other customers have come in and received their food paid they bill and left. And we were still sitting waiting for something to arrive. We queried every 30 minutes up till we left and all we were told is that they are doubling up and pushing? Only thing they pushed is me out their doors. Pathetic service from Bafana as well as the manager (who I believe was also Bafana). I don't know what else to say but words cannot express my disgust.

UPDATE: They have made contact below, requesting my details, however they have still failed to contact me for 2 days now - my reference number is : A1008920412, according to their website. This further backs up my 1 star rating of this venue. Clearly they do not take a family of 6 sitting at their venue for a Mother's Day Lunch important enough to acknowledge or even...

I had the worst experience at this place. No customer service whatsoever! I came with my sisters on Mother's Day 2025 for lunch. First of all, they never answer their phone. Upon arrival, we were never received by anyone at the entrance, so we decided to find our way upstairs until 1 waiter told me "to find my own seat," and promised to attend to us as soon as possible. After looking for a seat, "which was not even comfortable since there was sun all over the space, " we waited for someone to attend to us for more than 20 minutes, but no one came. I had to get up again to go look for a waiter until I saw a waitress this time who, again, told me she would attend to our table as soon as she could. We waited yet again, and no one came. My sister got up to look for the restaurant manager, who also promised to attend to our table. After a long wait, he came to our table literally dripping with sweat! What a disgrace! He seemed to be in a rush and quickly offered to give us menus, but they, too, were unpleasant to look at since they were so dirty. He left and promised to send a waitress to our table, and guess what...another wait! Until we decided to get up and leave. I won't bother going back to this place, and I 100% would NOT RECOMMEND...

UPDATE ON ORIGINAL REVIEW: Once the manager contacted us and asked for us to come back - we saw how lovely La Parada actually was.

Our waitress was attentive and kind. Our food was delicious and the atmosphere was much more inviting when you sit downstairs.

I am happy to say we were proven wrong and this is a lovely restaurant to visit for a special occasion. Thank you so much to the staff and managers!

ORIGINAL REVIEW: This was our first time at the restaurant. We sat upstairs. We ended up not even ordering food, only drinks. Firstly, our waitress didn’t introduce herself and her name badge wasn’t visible.

We waited 20-30 minutes for our drinks, and a further 15 minutes afterwards for an ashtray.

Once we tried to pay our bill, our waitress said our card was declined and immediately ran away from us. We ended up going downstairs to find her. And only then did she confirm our transaction went through.
