Hombaze — Restaurant in Gauteng

I had a very disappointing experience from this place today, appalled by their delivery service. I waited for the food for almost 3 hours. My apartment is 5 mins away from the restaurant. I called several times to find out where my delivery is , I spoke to a lady who told me my food is on it's way, 30 mins later I called again, a guy answered the phone tells me that the delivery guy was at my apartment but couldn't reach me by phone, which is not true! Instead of apologising and coming up with a solution, he was very rude and unprofessional to be working at a restaurant he spent 5mins trying to argue with me on the phone, he then tells me that he is doing me a favour. I lost it and told him were to get off! Let's just say he will never forget me!

It was a unique experience, just few things that may seem small to the establishment which were a low for me and my friends. There was no T-roll in the ladies. If they can constantly check in there when they have customers. Got excited when i saw their winelist, they have everything but a proper corkscrew (had those old waiters one) and the smallest wine glasses i've everseen. Hombaze pls get a wing corkscrew can get one on takealot for R180 and please please invest in bigger wine glasses, you can only take them out for people like me who make a fuss about glasses. What worked well. The food was really good...no complaints!!Hubby ordered Banga and starch. I ordered fried yam, dodo and beans while the kids had jollof rice. 🤗

What needs improvement Yho! We waited for what seemed like eternity. Interesting was the fact that there only two other couples who came in after us so the place was empty. We were close to canceling our order but decided to bear it since we had driven all the way from Bedfordview. Please look into the time it takes to serve customers.
