Honchos Fordsburg — Restaurant in Gauteng

I always get lunch at Honchos Mayfair as I do work in the surrounding area, I’m sure the staff can attest to that, even those on different shifts.

More times than once that I have made orders, be it on uber eats or in the store physically, I get back to have lunch only to find out there is a missing item.

The staff have no sense of customer service whatsoever, sometimes leave you standing at the counter while chatting at the back instead of taking your order, not to mention how rude some of the female staff there can be. The bathroom is never ever in working condition, ventilation and lighting is quite poor and food does take a bit too long to be out.

Most recently there has been an increase in their menu pricing and while we cannot really fault them for that, it does really infuriate me that I take my order only to get back at work and find out that an item was left out, be it intentional or by accident but it has happened far too many times to be normal, I’m sure other customers can attest to this.

Lastly, as stated before, I am a repeat customer at Honchos Fordsburg, probably there 5 times each week, wether with colleagues or alone and as such, I do not appreciate the service from particular staff- tossing my order towards me on the counter like it’s nothing, not calling my order number out and instead having me make query’s at the counter and leaving out items included in my order, items of which I paid for and can’t return to the restaurant to make queries due to time. I was at Honchos Fordsburg today as I do buy food regularly from Honchos and always enjoy the food so seeing that I was in the area I did not see any food place that I know as I do not just buy food anywhere. I then went to Honchos Fordsburg the cashier taking my order takes it with attitude. Her facial expression alone too was not very pleasing and it almost made me just turn around and walk out. A pity I did not get the cashier's name as I did not see her have a name tag on. I wait for my order and it is then called out the person who called my ticket number just packs everything I ordered in a takeaway parcel takes my receipt tries it in the packet not even asking if I wanted to eat there or have it take away. Even the cashier who took my order asked if I want a take away or eat their. Should the owner see my review please address this with your staff. I'm not racist but what observed while waiting for my order is that the African people who were waiting for their food or who were ordering were treated with respect and got good service and we who are other race were not treated fairly. Aright, I was tired of cooking. I said, "You know what? Honcho in Fordsburg, let's try it." I ordered that R63.00 meal, the quarter chicken, chips, and a roll. Sounded proper nice.

Delivery? Quick, I'll give them that. But then, then, I open the bag, ready to chow down, and...boom! Missing item! Like, seriously? I was looking forward to that meal, you know?

So, I hit up Mr D support, trying to sort it out. And you know what they did? They kept closing my ticket! Like, are you for real? Eventually, they gave me R15 off. R15! That's not the point, guys! I wanted my whole meal! I was hungry, man!
