Went back to The Turkish Grill in Fordsburg tonight after a very pleasant experience, except for the service, last week. Even raved to family and friends about the food. It was divine.

What a total DISAPPOINTMENT tonight, food was luke warm, had to ask 3 times for the beverages that was ordered before it was finally brought to the table, waited an additional 15 mins for the 4th meal and that was only because I enquired about the missing meal, was it finally brought to the table.

Dismal service from the waiter.

There was a total of 6 patrons in the establishment at the time we were there and that included my family of 4.

Maybe they were having an off night, who knows, consistency and customer service is key, especially in this challenging climate.

I will rather NOT be revisiting to find out if their service has improved, time...

The food was good here.

Service was terrible. I understand that load shedding does slow down service, but they were a bit too slow. Our food took too long to come and once it arrived we had to ask for spoons and that took like 5 mins. Also, we ordered 2 drinks (mango and fruit cocktails), and they gave us something else instead of the cocktail, and the waitress tried to tell me it's what I ordered. After replacing the drink when we asked for our bill and complimentary tea in the end, that also took forever. When we told the waitress service was too slow, she was getting upset that we were not the only ones there ( I saw people who came after us get served). In the end, her attitude was kinda rude.

Probably won't...

Dear Jinous and the Turkish Grill Family,

I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to you for the incredible hospitality and warmth you showed during my mother’s 60th birthday celebration. From the moment we arrived, your team made us feel like family—every detail was handled with care, and the atmosphere was truly special.

The food was exceptional, the service impeccable, and the ambiance perfect for such a meaningful occasion. My mother was deeply touched, and our guests are still raving about the experience.

Thank you for helping us create beautiful memories. We’re truly grateful and look forward to visiting again soon.

Warm regards, The...

We decided to try something new and visited The Turkish Grill, a quaint little spot that immediately felt warm and welcoming. It was a drizzly day, and we found a cozy corner to sit in – the perfect setting for a comforting meal. Though it’s not our usual choice of cuisine, we were pleasantly surprised by the food. The flavour combinations on the platter were vibrant and exciting, truly awakening our palates. It was a wonderful first experience — proof that sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone leads to the best discoveries.

now and then i enjoy the taste of the middle east spices on a mixed grilled plater. only problem was the drinks. not so many options. The Turkish tea tasted like the local five roses tea. there was nobstock for apple tea, wich i would have enjoyed to taste. The Turkish coffee was nice and strong. thanks for the TV and outdoor heater which made it possible for us to watch soccer while enjoying our meal. The waiter was ever kind and had a good knowledge of his menu. Thanks Sadi. And the baklava dessert was DELICIOUS.

A hidden gem in the midst of chaos that is Fordsburg/Mayfair area. A quiet space slightly away from mint road. Nice place to grab a quick bite or laze about for a moment or two. Food is always great in value, taste, portion size and delivery speed , staff are good at being easily accessible and very accommodating. The seating areas are clean neat. On occasion the manager /owners greet, genuinely 👌.
