We booked for a 1 night family stay over at this establishment. I made a few calls to them up to a week before our arrival to confirm that they still had our booking as they did not want me to pay in advance. I even went to the extent of paying them a visit a week before my arrival to confirm that all is in order for my booking of the following week. Spoke to Tariq at the front desk (he was the guy who took my booking) and he confirmed all was is order.||||So we left Durban last Saturday morning with the family. We arrive at Fordsburg INN just after midday. This time a guy who identifies himself as Solly or Sony is at the front desk. I told him we have a booking and have come to check in. He says that I had called to cancel my booking!!! I did no such thing. He insists that I had called him and that he even gave me my phone number over the phone to cancel the booking. He then has the audacity to ask me - Who do I think could have called and cancelled the booking? I mean he messed up somewhere here and is passing the buck to our end. What a load of hogwash.||||I then asked him if he cannot accommodate us? He said that he was full up yet there were a few other families who had checked in while I was there. ||||I asked for Tariq's contact details. Phoned him and he was of no help.||||They made a feeble attempt to see if one of the other hotels in the area had space to accommodate us. They kept on saying they were full up.||||Sony/Solly eventually get place at hotel a few buildings down the road from the but I must pay twice the price that Fordsburg Inn had quoted me!!! The way I understand it is if Fordsburg INN messed up my booking they need to accommodate me elsewhere without it costing me more than I was supposed to pay???||||To date I have received no formal apology from them. Just Disgraceful.||||The entire story from their end just does not make sense!||||Will definitely NOT return to...

AC not working and when it works properly it has water leaking (room 209). When you ask for towels they don’t have. WiFi not working, rooms are dirty. When complained the receptionist told me if I’m not happy I can leave. I followed his suggestion. Left the Hotel on the 29th of December 2024. Worst customer service ever. Staff not friendly. Not like before. It used to be a clean and nice hotel with breakfast and clean rooms, friendly staff. Now is the worst I’ve ever been.
