This is indeed a sad day. I have previously always RAVED about this Hooters. And living in PTA this is always a long drive, but everytime I visited before it was worth it. So Sunday we drove for a late lunch / early dinner. My brother flew up from Cape Town and Hooters was always a treat for him. Arrived around 4.45pm. It was quiet. Thats ok. Orderded drinks. Rest of the 'party' arrived. Service was fast and good (as always). The food took more than half an hour (by Hooters standards they are in the weeds then....), something we have never experienced. The fish tacos were good (1 order), those that ordered the shrimps (2 orders) were happy and the curly fries a winner as always. But the bulk of the table ordered boneless wings, the Hooters speciality. For the 1st time in 8 years visiting this restaurant the chicken was dry. And at R449 for 50 and R189 for 20 this is not acceptable. Being pressed for time (and hungry) - my brother needed to catch a flight) we all ate the wings (3 orders) but all concluded it was dry and not as plesant as it should be. Considering that the restaurant was not busy, this was a big let down. Also no management anywhere. No checkup if we were happy with our food. I will most likely give Hooters Emperors 1 last chance, but will definately not drive all the way there for mediocre (at best) food. I have always been super happy, have taken so many people there, but the previous time was also not as expected (but not this bad) and this time far from expectations. So Hooters, PLEASE, PLEASE get back to "we own the weeds' so I can continue...
Read moreVisited on a Sunday evening with my daughter and other family. Upon arrival there was no hostess to seat us. We were seated in a small booth and told to wait while a larger booth opened up. The waitress took our drink order and seemed visibly put off when we ordered water (keep in mind the majority of the table is diabetic) However when moving to the larger booth a different waitress was assigned to us, and she was quite helpful and understanding. Even though our food was delayed. Upon wanting the bill we couldn't find a waitress at all. They seemed to be having a huddle by one of the doors, to what I assume is the kitchen. We stood up and waited and went looking and finally got the manager who got the waitress. Upon getting ready to pay, I noticed a kiddies menu at the hostess booth (that had not been given to us) I turned it over out of interest and noticed that it said 'kids eat free on Sundays'. Upon questioning the manager why were not told this or given the menu, he called the hostess over who told us very rudely that 'it was not her job'. She even spoke to her manager rudely and he did nothing about it. We were quite disgusted, but paid and left letting them know we would definitely be...
Read moreWe were extremely disappointed with the service received. Upon entering the establishment, a waitress very rudely commented on the fact that we had our young nephew with us. She literally said out loud “who brings a child to hooters” We just wanted to sit down at a restaurant and enjoy a conversation so I thought it was very unprofessional to make such a comment out loud? The waitress also came across as condescending and annoyed every time we asked for service, even though we only had 2 Drinks each (table of 6 people, so not very demanding) then finally when they told us they are closing we were just finishing our drinks (literally 3 sips to go) yet 2min later we saw a waitress point at us, acting extremely annoyed that we weren’t immediately leaving. We did get up to leave at this point yet a man still came to us telling us to leave. This whole experience was just so condescending and so disappointing and honestly the behaviour of the wait staff was so disgusting. Please do yourself a favour and go enjoy any other restaurant at emperor’s if you’d like to be treated like a decent...
