Mugg & Bean New Market — Restaurant in Gauteng

Everything disappointing. They don't cater for kids - We asked for a kids menu since other mugg and beans have and was told they don't have. So we asked if they have a kids portion of French toast and they said yes, we still confirmed 3 times for it to be a childs size and NOT the adult portion. They ended up giving my 1 year old a full sized adults portion and charged for it as an adults portion. I paid, but the fact of the matter is just be honest if there is no kids options. I would have appreciated that more than being told they can do it and then being charged an adult portion which i did not want. If this were the case I would have ordered something else for my toddler as shes not going to finish a full adult portion. In addition, the tea tasted like there was limescale in it. I also don't appreciate the additional tip added after I gave over a 10% tip even after the French toast mess up. Won't be going back to Newmarket mugg and bean...

I've been a regular at Mugg & Bean New Market, visiting 2-3 times a week for the last three weeks, mainly because of the outstanding service from Tumi, who is always kind and attentive. However, today's experience was incredibly disappointing and has made me reconsider returning.

When we arrived today, Tumi wasn't there, and we were left to seat ourselves while two waiters completely ignored us. After some time, they sent a young trainee with menus, who then left with an attitude and never returned to our table. We sat for almost 20-30 minutes without being offered drinks or any kind of service.

Tumi has always made our visits enjoyable, but today's experience was far from it. The level of service was unacceptable, and it's unfortunate to have to write such a negative review. While I hope the restaurant retains Tumi, I am doubtful about returning after...

Worst service ever. Will never visit any Mugg and Bean ever again as a result of the lack of service at New Market. Got told by the manager that it is busy,so the kitchen bump orders. It is therefore the luck of the draw,if yours gets chosen to be bumped,it is what it is. Rather tell people beforehand that it is so busy (although there were open tables) and that only drinks can be ordered,then people can go elsewhere to order food. They just waste your time and money.
