Mugg & Bean — Restaurant in Gauteng

Great. As a Google Local Guide Level 8; I must commend M&G in the relaxing music that played. I'm soooo tired of so many restaurants that play crazy loud upbeat music, when you want to come sit down and relax, AWAY from the busy shops. Well done M&B.

From a friendly welcome, to the waiters on the floor and service staff, I definately rate M&G service 4/5 tp 5 stars.

Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be a winner here, due to its location and centrality.

Their location is great, central and nearby other shops as well.

Great service, atmosphere and food! M&B is a trendy and comfortable coffee shop / restaurant. A beautiful venue with professional service. You will not be sorry for trying M&B for a casual coffee, a proper breakfast / lunch or a quick snack. Their Mocca Java coffee is great, and so is their Hot chocolate. I love their chicken livers dish!

There are many options for seating, but I would ask to be seated away from the waiters station, since it can get very noisy.

My wife and I have been to M&G many times, and it is always friendly and full of character – not just a generic coffee shop, but a reliable and predictable good experience.

We love the interior decor, the look and feel.

They have a great menu with many options to choose from. Their food is always tastefully prepared, very well portioned and presented well. Our kids (12 & 15) also enjoy M&G. This is why I would return, since I can expect a good experience, away from home.

when coffee is important, but the wrong coffee is in the wrong box, decaf is served from the “single origin box” waiters and waitresses only work to earn an income and a lack of passion or excitement or willingness to serve, management busy with things rather than checking the floor and the quality of service and the satisfaction of the client and that everyone is helping to make the experience a pleasant one, one can’t help but think whether it is really going too good for a restaurant like Mugg and Bean to have service and client satisfaction as a priority… what happened to the reason Mugg and Bean started, why it exists and even more important, their strive to be able to serve the best customer experience. your food is not cheap, your cakes are not cheap, the experience should...

I am in general and usually keen to park at a M&B for a coffee, this morning was such an occasion, with me rating restaurants constantly as part of my reviewing job. This morning was no exception as I waited for some other shops to open. The Coffee was great hence the the two stars, but the food was horrible. As you would hope for it being a New York style coffee shop, it would assume that the bagel preparations would be great, well it wasn't. I had a Breakfast Bagel, the Bagel itself was old (Not Fresh), overcooked and dry. The scrambled egg was flavourless as it was cooked in water, no basil pesto as promised on the menu, with very little Hollandaise sauce under the bacon. Won't order food at Mugg & Bean again.
