Ocean Basket Kempton Park — Restaurant in Gauteng

We visited this Ocean Basket 2 months ago, it was at month end, and the place was packed! We had the absolute pleasure of having Bradley as our waiter, he was excellent! The food took a while to get to us, this is because they where so busy, but our waiter was so excellent, and he took such good care of us, that we didn't mind the wait at all. My daughter wanted sushi as a meal, she is terribly allergic to shellfish (we ended up at casualty the first time she tried shellfish), I was so worried that her meal would get mixed up, Bradley assured me that they would not mix it up, and I saw him standing there and keeping an eye on how her sushi was made, even though the restaurant was so busy, I was free to enjoy our dinner. I would definitely recommend this Ocean Basket to anyone, the one in Glen Mare, because if the food was so amazing and the service was so excellent on a night that they where so busy, just imagine how good they would be on a quieter night (if they have any)...I would never go to the Ocean Basket at Stoneridge Center again, the service there is pathetic, but the Ocean Basket at Glen Mare is excellent! I will definitely be back! Thank you again Bradley for the amazing service, I hope this wonderful review...

Hands down, without a doubt, the worst Ocean Basket experience in the Republic. First time visiting this branch.

Firstly the fried fish starters arrived frozen in the centre.... so much for fresh fish.... Sent it back and received the same serving back but, this time completely overfried.

Secondly the mains arrived cold and not very flavorsome. Normally the pan that it is served in is nice and hot and keeps the food warm. The food is always flavorsome.

The waiter had no idea about customer service and did not offer any apology or effort to correct our bad experience.

Not a manager or anyone resembling a manager in sight and when I asked about the wherabouts of the manager I was told he is the one cooking.... no surprise there in hindsight! Maybe he should rather commit himself to managing the operation as his cooking leaves a lot to be desired.

Ocean Basket Glen Acres is an absolute no go! Will rather travel the extra distance to Brentwood Mall where the experience is on standard.

After around the 10th time dinning at Ocean Basket Glen Marais we were rejected service due to having a small dog at my side. This is outside seating. If inside I could understand but as far as I’m concerned I’m seated outside with smokers. And to top it off while the manager (Mr Western - so he’s called) is rejecting to serve us another human is walking his dog through the outside seating area, in between the tables and interacting with people seated at a table opposite us. I understand the ‘rules’ but I don’t tolerate double standards. We have frequented this restaurant many times and never had trouble. This is because this is the only time Mr Western was actually on the floor. So that being said, I will never return to Ocean Basket ANYWHERE. These franchises offer nothing unique and special anyway. I would feel better if the manager didn’t treat me like I’ve done something wrong, my dog is better trained than a child...
