Mugg & Bean Woodbridge Square — Restaurant in Gauteng

On Sunday 28 May 2023, on a very cold, misty, windy and overcast day my friends treated me to my birthday celebration at Maria's Mugg and Bean Restaurant at Monument Road, Woodbridge.

From the moment we arrived we were met at the entrance by the waitron staff, with a joyous greeting from each one 'Welcome, good morning and a happy Birthday Mrs Jackson. How are you?'

Maria had attended to everything in the finest detail. The location of our table was ideal. A combination of benches as well as chairs for our comfortable seating. The tables were set beautifully with silver and white printed  'Happy birthday' serviettes. Nico, a manager brought me a lovely gift of stunning long stemmed fresh flowers from Maria .

The ambience was perfect as usual.

Our mid morning coffee oders arrived without any delay.

The Baristas were well qualified, attentive and served our drinks superbly.

Every item we ordered from the new menu was cooked to perfection and served tastefully on our plates.

Vision, our designated waitron was his customary perfect professional self.

His service was very quick and like a Boss.

Before a need arose to order more hot drinks, Vision was already at our table.

My favourite slice of birthday cake, Peppermint crisp Tart, was done to Perfection. It tasted like my personal home made recipé.

When the waitrons sang a surprise happy birthday to me, with a lit  candle in a cupcake I thanked them heartily.

Kudos to the kitchen and cleaning staff too.

When asked how I was enjoying my birthday so far, I mentioned to Nico, Vision and other staff that it was such a Blessing to be celebrating my special day with my Mugg and Bean Family at my 'Home away from Home'.

Thank you to Maria and staff ( the list is too long to mention all of your names) it was wonderful being hosted  by you and spending an exceptional 7 hours in your company.

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I received from Mr. Delivery and Mug & Bean on my recent order. On 26 January 2025, I placed an order for three California breakfasts with extra fries through the Mr. Delivery platform.

Regrettably, when I received my order, I was shocked to find that it was incomplete. The order did not include the extra fries I had specifically requested, nor did it come with cutlery, salt, or pepper.

I immediately contacted Mug & Bean to report the issue, and they informed me that Mr. Delivery was responsible for the missing items, as they had allegedly given the fries to the delivery driver.

I have since attempted to contact Mr. Delivery through various channels, including phone calls, messages, and WhatsApp. Unfortunately, my efforts have been met with complete disregard. My messages and calls have gone unanswered, and the only response I received on WhatsApp was from a robot that failed to understand my complaint.

As a customer, I expect a certain level of service and quality from the establishments I support. The lack of attention to detail, combined with the poor communication and disregard for customer complaints, has fallen short of my expectations.

I hope that you will take my complaint seriously and take immediate action to address the issues I have raised. I would appreciate a formal response regarding the steps you will take to prevent such incidents in the future.

Somebody SERIOUSLY needs to come and investigate this branch! Its one disappointment after another!!! Lets start with their Chino iced coffees ... MY USUAL when passing by ANY M&B yet this specific branch ALWAYS tastes revolting...AGAIN I complained to the usual Barista and finally he he told me that this branch actually does NOT even use the SAME suppliers as all the other branches!!! Whaaaat??? I can go into ANY other M&B branch and have absolute confident in what I am getting but THIS branch in Glen Marais ALWAYS disappoints with the completely different type of blends for the Chinos which tastes nothing like the usual standard from every other other outlet! When I asked him to rather give me a Cappuccino ... low and behold the blend tasted completely different to the usual M&B blend as well! This branch SERIOUSLY overdue for a mystery shopper from H/Office - someone in a higher seat to address whatever it is that is going on behind the scene here PLEEEEASE so that we can get the standard we expect from a M&B franchise - EVERY TIME, CONSISTENTLY! M&B is the most convenient for business meetings too but I can never take clients to this branch. Something needs to be investigated...
