Platō Coffee - Stanley — Restaurant in Gauteng

I have been a customer of Plato since it first opened in Rustenburg. I went to the one in Stanely, Braamfontein for a few hours while the manager held a staff meeting in front of customers. The manager was too loud and we could hear how much the workers were earning. There was no sense of privacy for the staff members and she spoke to her team in very condescending tones. I am not one to eavesdrop but it was difficult to ignore.

While I understand that employee relations can be tough, I think the manager really looked down on her staff and could have had the conversation at a different time where customers were not present.

I think how you treat your staff is indicative of the type of business you are running. The manager can do better. I wish the staff there all the best in their...

Look i love Plato Coffee at Stanley but my experience today was not great.

I got there at 17:35 and really just wanted a coffee and closing time is 18:00 but they already packed the beans and cleaned the machine, I understand that the workers wanna go home at 18:00 but your closing time is 18:00 so if a client shows up at 17:55 they should still be able to get coffee. I came 20 min before closing time and was told i can get anything but coffee… coffee is in your name i don't want anything else. If you start cleaning do everything else and the beans and machine last as thats your main thing otherwise change your time to 17:30. I don't think thats a unreasonable request.

I had an amazing experience at Plato! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. The staff were incredibly friendly from the moment I walked in.

The coffee was exceptional, with a rich, full-bodied flavor that stood out from other coffee shops I've visited. I also tried one of their pastries (the chocolate 🥐), which was fresh and delicious. The attention to detail in both the drinks and food is evident, and I appreciate the quality and care that goes into everything they serve.

Plato has definitely become my go-to spot for a great cup of coffee and a cozy environment. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch coffee...
