I chose GARDEN court milpark because of its proximity to the University of Johannesburg. But best to opt for guesthouses and airbnb in Melville... Which I've done often and enjoyed. Garden court was disappointing. First booked a standard room. First minute in the room I realised noise levels from neighbours and street. Upgraded to deluxe room higher up. While better in terms of noise and bathroom, it's stuffy, the air dry (without using air con). Found a cockroach... Reported this on checkout. Ordered room service: worst idea. The half chicken I order was completely dry. The dessert: custard was burnt and too sweet. The malva pudding must have been a week old... So rather do uber Eats or eat out. The lighting is too dark, not homey. The whole hotel is grey so coupled with poor lighting it's rather uncomfortable. The location is awkward because it's on the main road and highway... So not conducive for a relaxed feeling. Other than that, the staff were friendly. But for the premium price, I will go across to Melville next time.

Stay at the hotel was what you would expect from a tsogo group. Room was comfortable and neat. Bathrooms in both the deluxe and standard were neat and large enough. Bathtubs are applicable to the family rooms as well a kitchenette option. Deluxe room had a small fridge as well as a table and 2 chairs. Wifi was strong in rooms and fast enough for our needs. Aircon was a bit noisy but managed fine. Breakfast options were good and changed daily. Egg station was available to cater to requests. Vegetarian options for breakfast was a bit limited to vegetable stir fry or roast potatoes or hash browns. Soya options would be better suited. Overall worth the visit as other attractions like Melrose arch and mall of Africa are close to the site.

There's r flats blocking d beauty of the hotel. There's no sufficient space at d entrance. It's a road then door immediately mxm. Dinning Hall looks exactly like boarding school dinning Hall. Not on hotel level at all. Food! 🤮. Rooms are the only thing Dats on hotel 5 star standard. Outside n dinning Hall are on 1 star grading 😏. There is no bar where u can unwind. I won't refer anyone n will never ever think of coming back. U even have to pay for parking 😡. I've never been to a hotel like this one. M truly disappointed.

I selected the Executive room because I work from my room, need good connectivity, and do enjoy a few extras. Apart from a spacious room with many of the comforts one expects when paying a little more my stay has been a series of disappointments. The room; spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately whomever selected the lounge chairs has never tried sitting in one while engaging in an extended phone conversation. They are simply uncomfortable. The air conditioner is old and noisy but everything else is (budget) fresh and clean. Servicing of the room fell short on day 2; the coffee, sugar & milk was not replenished. This is simply poor staff training. The shower; is in the bath and unfortunately the bath does not drain quickly so a shower ends up with ankle-deep water in the bath. Onto Reception staff. All that can be said is they are functional. Each day after checking in that I walk past reception I get not even a nod. The restaurant; this is certainly focussed on offering nothing more than sustenance. The first night I elected to order the lamb chops (which I was assured had been served multiple times that night). The chops were very good. Unfortunately the potato was cool and the veg cold. I returned it to the kitchen and received back steaming hot veg, but even cooler potato and by now the lamb was cold too. The second day I ventured the buffet; under-seasoned and basically volume grub. Simply put; no respect from the kitchen as to what is served. So if you are looking for a comfortable bed well located and have no interest in having "an experience" then this is the venue you...

I made an online reservation at garden court Sandton city, what was critical for me was an early check in Sandton was fully booked the night before so I was forced to seek alternative accommodation. I ended up booking at Garden court milpark. Upon check in the receptionist says that I have to pay again as the funds are still with Sandton, I totally understood and paid cash. She requested that I send her the payment confirmation which was sent via email. I extended my stay for the 2nd night knowing that I have paid for 2 nights and it was just a matter of transferring funds from 1 entity to the other. I arrive back at the hotel for the 2nd night and the lady refuse to let me go up without paying. I asked about the money which was paid via the online payment the other colleague said it will be reversed in 3 days all this on an assumption basis eventually we call Sandton and they have the funds. 48 hrs later which could have been resolved in 5min. The service and product knowledge is...
