Steers Drive Thru — Restaurant in Gauteng

Upon arrival, there were 2 ordering staff both with headphones. They were clearly prioritising drive through so walk ins have to take a very distant back seat. Was ignored completely for more than 5 minutes despite being in full view of all the staff. I decided to hail a passing staff. He took my order for sit down clearly marked on the receipt. After 10 minutes or more went to check on the order. Again it was an issue to get anyone's attention. After some scratching around for a few more minutes they finally found my order but instead of sit down it was packaged for take away. After explaining, the staff found a plate but refused a glass saying had to drink direct from the PET bottle! When the vegan burger was decanted it was full of cheese which is not mentioned on the menu and at other branches not added. After another 10 minute wait finally got my correct order. All this time service was totally sullen, no pleasantries or enthusiasm or apology for the comedy of errors. Really in serious need of training. Can do much...

I was given the wrong order by the lady at the last window of the drivethrough today (16.30). She was rude and unprofessional in the process. She also took my receipt and did not give it back. There were no serviettes, salt or sauces included with the order. I phoned afterwards to speak to Renette?, the manager. She said there had never been a complaint about this lady Victoria? before. The manager did not resolve the issue. She did not even wanted to find out what exactly went wrong. I just wanted to inform them of a problem. They took our money, but did not honour their responsibility towards their customer....

On Wednesdays we sometimes treat ourselves to Steers' Wacky Wednesday meals. We love the beef burgers to be medium and the chicken fillets on the burgers to be soft and juicy. Believe me the Steers in Wonderboom gets it right on each occasion.

We prefer the counter service as we believe that the drive through orders puts too much pressure on the staff and sometimes they miss a trick in the preparation of the food.

We've always found the staff at this Steers to be very friendly and cheerful. I drive past a few stores to get good service and good food.
