Hey everyone...
Hope all is well and your keeping healthy and happy... Well to start this review, you may have noticed that I didn't rate it 5 stars yet this is a good thing, meaning there is room for improvement and after this review it will make more sense. I order a lovely bacon and feta wrap that I must say was in good porsion and also very tightly wrapped, enough sauce and delightful, price was a bit high yet its understandable for the food and amount I was paying for. Service was good and the drink which was a custard cup a.k.a the orgasime cup gosh...only a few things I wish was better
#1 the waiting line:
I know what your thinking gosh do u have to be harsh? A line can not be avoided.
Yess that is true, yet considering if It can go quicker, which it can if u have more staff then please do.. Yet considering the health risks of today that can easily be fixed.
#2 music:
I don't know if I am hard of hearing yet I couldn't hear any music accept that from my car and I missed the music Kota Joe used to play.
Conclusion: All of what is wrong is due to the fact of the pandemic we are currently in and as soon as this passes I'll happily come around and and do a review again.
Fact is Kota Joe makes good food and I enjoyed my experience and hope all who reads this would if they like and want to spoil themselves go and check out the awesome restaurants/drive thru/roadhouse that...
Read moreI'm giving Kota Joe Wonderboom only three stars for their food simply because they had a false start on our food. My wife ordered a bacon burger but got a plain burger. I ordered calamari, onion rings and the calamari came out extra crispy and chewy.
The manager Willem came to our rescue. My wife's bacon burger came back beautiful and tasty. My food tasted what it taste like. Which leaves me with one question, why not do it right the first time?
The youngsters who served the food were enthusiastic, friendly forthcoming. They certainly were just as disappointed as we were in the first attempt.
The atmosphere has a retro 80's mid 90s feel to the place. Exactly what you expect from a roadhouse. The music is not overpowering loud and there appears to be no rush to get customers to finish their meals and leave.
Kota Joe gives out Chappies bubblegum instead of the normal candy given by restaurants to complete the retro atmosphere.
Kota Joe offers an impressive menu that can either be consumed in your car or in a sitdown area. Their milkshakes are amazing.
Overall it was not a bad experience. I think we will go back to Kota Joe as everyone in this world deserves a second chance. Willem and your team stand by, we...

We visited the iconic Kota Joe in Pretoria North, a drive-through roadhouse style restaurant where they both take your order and serve your meal while you're STILL in your vehicle. 🚗
There's a large variety of not only Kotas to choose from, but other meal items as well, namely burgers, pizzas, ribs and wings. Your typical restaurant food. 🍕🍖🍗
My Kota of choice was the spicy cheese with chicken - an absolutely delicious combination of flavorful chips, tasty chicken pieces all covered in a spicy cheesy sauce filled in a soft yet sturdy enough bread holder. I have no idea how the other kotas taste but I believe that this was certainly the best one 😋
Let me not forget about the truly decadent milkshakes 🥛. I had the oreo dark chocolate espresso - despite the long name, all the flavors pulled through and complimented each other really well ☕️🍫
