This was an interesting experience. An aquaintance of mine recommended it, so I didn't do my usual research before going to a new place. We went for an early dinner on a Monday evening. The venue turns into a club as the evening progresses, so if that's not your vibe, I would suggest going for lunch. Starters - Arancini balls were delicious. Lovely crunch on the outside, slightly sweet sauce and the blue cheese they used balanced everything out beautifully. Chicken hearts and giblets. The meat itself was cooked very well, but the sauce that accompanied it was overly sweet. It tasted more like tomato ketchup than a sauce. Prawn & Salmon Spring roll - These spring rolls are not deep fried, but delicious. Lots of meat, light and fresh ingredients. Our mains were a selection of sushi; Wagyu roll - overpriced but they were ok. This is the first time I've had beef sushi. I'm not mad at it but there are better seafood-based sushi options on the menu Midnight Delight - so we had to send this back because the rice they used was undercooked (they used a black rice instead of the standard sushi rice). The manager attended to it personally and ensured that we were given a fresh plate using normal sushi rice. The rainbow roll was delicious, I can't fault it Rock Shrimp roll - Yum! Dessert - Had a scoop of the mango sorbet as well as the lemon. If you like something that's not overly sweet then go for the mango. Light and refreshing. I enjoyed the lemon but it's not for everyone. Wine - We ordered a bottle of Secateurs Chenin Blanc. This is a good option for someone looking for a wine that has a hint of sweetness but dry enough to enjoy if you and your group have different preferences. This is a great middle ground. Priced well too. Service - The manager who attended to us when we had issues was very very good. He was extremely apologetic about the sushi and the giblets and checked in on us several times to ensure we were enjoying our time. The waiter seemed a little distracted so I had to drop a star...

Read moreWe made a reservation for lunch on Saturday as part of our Restaurant Week dining experience. We were served a three-course meal with several selections available in the starter, main, and dessert categories. For my starter, I chose a prawn ceviche, which also featured mango and pineapple salsa served on a wasabi chip. This was a fantastic flavor combination, and I really enjoyed this starter, which was fresh and light. I selected the confit duck as my main meal. The duck was a tad bit overcooked (the duck should have been medium-rare, in my opinion), but was well-seasoned nonetheless. The confit duck was served with grilled celeriac, honey pickled shimiji, chargrilled bok choy, sous vide heirloom carrots, and duck jus. While these accompaniments were tasty on their own, I did not find the flavors of these accompaniments to complement the meat. I had the Lindt Fondant for dessert, which consisted of fondant, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream. The incredibly decadent Lindt Fondant is composed of dark chocolate (approximately 70% dark) and is a chocolate lover's dream. The food journey was enjoyable overall, but I believe there is room for refinement.
The restaurant provided outstanding service, and our waiter was both attentive and extremely knowledgeable. We were required to wait approximately ten minutes between each course. This should be monitored by the restaurant, as I can only assume that the wait time will increase in duration as the business becomes busier. The restaurant was pristine and...
