This review is in respect of the restaurant. My retired parents lived in the area for a few years, so we were fairly frequent visitors to the restaurant, the last time about two years ago whereafter my parents relocated. The quality of the food was always good with good value for money, too. Service was excellent. So, in expectation of the same standard, I returned with 2 family members when we had to run an errand in the area. The service from the waiters was excellent. The food, however, was awful. We ordered the 12 and 8 queen prawns and calamari with rice and salad. The best was the salad, served in small side plates, although the water from the washing of the lettuce hadn't been allowed to drain, so the salad floated on water. The prawns were overcooked, to the extent that we struggled to remove the meat from the shells, abandoning the shells with the unremovable grilled-in prawn meat. The calamari was over cooked, too and tough and horrible. The rice was overcooked. We complained when asked and were offered a fresh serving, but we were in a hurry and opted to finish up and pay the bill. The two stars is for the attentive wait staff. Food is rated at zero, definitely no longer worth the time stopping over in a not so pleasant area. Sad to say, but we should rather have gone a little further to Eastgate. The restaurant is no longer what...

Changing my previous 4 star review. Ordered a margarita pizza and some other things. Then later find out that the pizza man isn't in today so they can't do pizzas. Then ask for water and they say that the tap water is currently bad. Fine, Joburg water is currently doing maintenance so fair enough. Swap to the R30 Nata and cappuccino special for drinks.

Get the cappuccinos and ask for the nata's. Only to be told that they don't have nata's and that we will be charged for the cappuccinos at their normal price of R24 each. I ask to speak to the manager and am told that she has been informed, and so I ask if the waiter can tell her that we are really disappointed and we would never have just ordered the cappuccinos without the nata's.

He tells the manager, Sue who is 4 meters away from us and comes back to tell us she is, "really sorry". If she was sorry she could have come to talk to us or removed one of the beverages from the bill.

Literally anything. I can deal with a lot but having to pay for something that I didn't exactly order because the restaurant can't fulfill their deal is ridiculous.

More ridiculous if you consider that Casa Das Nata is their franchise. Not inspiring since the parent company had nonchalant service and limited stock not communicated up front.

Prefer Bemboms R25 coffee and nata special on the 20th...

Forget the area that this restaurant is in , its an absolute pleasure and vibe, Its safe , They've always served some of the best food now they've added a rooftop and new menu. Authentic flavours , great service and a must go to venue. I recommend any day of the week, however my favourite is on a Saturday from 2pm , they play kizomba and pasadas which will have you dancing . I felt like I was In Mozambique, you can find Mozambicans , French all nations vibing on the rooftop whilst enjoying the sunset and good vibes. I've been back 4 times in one month . Make sure you ask for both Menus, the old and new , neither will disappoint. I've had everything on the menu and during the week they have specials. It's no surprise that they've been in business for this long because they are just that amazing . The chourico , clams , frango are all prepared to perfection, you can't go wrong depending on what your in the mood for they deliver . Staff are friendly service is tops . Its affordable and an experience you won't regret. I want to ad dvideos and pics cause honestly it was such a vibe , find me on Instagram I've...

The food and the service is great at this place. The owners are accommodating and involved. They just need to get more champagne bucket stands to accomodate at least 60% of the tables especially during busy weekends so that the bucket with your bottle in it is not sitting on the next table that you have to flag a server or get up to get yourself a refill. The view from the rooftop at sunset is wonderful, with great live music and family friendly atmosphere. Their cigars are a bit pricey and dry so I advised the cigar aficionados to bring your own cigars and your lighter if you're coming here. Overall it is still great to visit the place especially for foreigners looking for something cultural and different.

Had dinner with friends and family at the restaurant within the Troyeville Hotel. They have a sports bar, a rooftop bar and a restaurant. The food at the restaurant is Mozambican/Portuguese inspired. The best chicken livers I have even had. So plain yet so delicious. They offer lots of seafood and combos. There was good feedback around the table. The food and atmosphere was great. We had fun. The desserts however were a disappointment, not in taste but I’m how they are presented and pitched. At dessert time, “samples” are brought to you and they didn’t entice. We advised the waitress to advise the management to re-consider our his approach.

Celebrating International Women's day with LIGA DA MULHER PORTUGUESA NA ÁFRICA DO SUL FILIAL DE JOANESBURGO A morning filled with inspirational woman who have come together again after covid has kept them apart. To support, inspire and raise funds and awareness for various causes. A great morning with delicious food, (even though it was buffet style, there was sufficient food) ending off with freshly made Natas.... the milho frito was addictive, Chicken was yummy, and whatever they did to the fish was amazing. Definitely enjoyed the offering for lunch. #TheFoodMusketeer #InternationalWomensDay #InternationalWomensDay202
