Wimpy — Restaurant in Gauteng

For a change I went to the Wimpy Roadhouse on Main Reef Road in Lakefield. The menu was given to me and the waiter said he'll give me a few minutes. After indicating to him that I was ready to order, he promptly came and took down my order. After waiting a few minutes, my delicious plain hot Wimpy burger with a good portion of chips arrived, I paid by card, and I left just to see the car guard, who had already greeted me when I arrived, waiting for me to redirect me back onto the road. On previous occasions I previously dined inside and at the smoking under-covered area outside, and experienced the same good service. You can sit alone, really relax and enjoy your meal in your own time with lovely soft music playing in the background. My parents often take their family and friends there as well. My mom always says, if anybody wants to take her and dad out for a meal, they can meet them at the Wimpy Roadhouse. The food is very tasty, fresh and very well presented and you get served very quickly to enjoy your scrumptious meal.The colourful menu is very well presented and shows exactly all their different types of meals they have to offer and their prices are very reasonable. There's ample parking with very friendly car guards. The waiters are very friendly, accommodating and assist you in choosing your meal.

There's a enclosed children's playground outside too on the same premises and you can watch them while they're playing on all the various entertaining equipment supplied.

Me and my family (5people)went to the wimpy roadhouse in lakefield benoni and were welcomed with a friendly waiter but it all went downhill after that, a second waiter come to our table to take our order and soon after disappeared, a third waiter named melta brought our order out and after we finished eating we wanted to get our free cappuccino/hot chocolate as advertised on social media if you wear your bok jersey valid for 10 November 2024, I showed her the post and my app and she refused to give the deal to all of us as she claimed it was only for app users (NOWHERE) does it state that it's for app users only and she started arguing with me and was being really rude, she then said she's going to speak with the manager, about 10 mins later a fourth waiter named Lucinda came out and started taking the order with no apologies in sight ,we then waited another 10 mins for the drinks. WIMPY!! please train your staff about the specials and deals available as they at first weren't even informed about it. Why were there 4 waiters "serving" us if they all are designated to certain tables/areas . So who at the end was i supposed to tip? All 4?? No ways wimpy. They weren't busy at all so that can't be the excuse?? DO BETTER. After we paid the bill they had the nerve to give me a barcode to scan to rate their services 🙄? As If they did an excellent job. This Wimpy is, without a doubt, the best in Gauteng. It's also the heart of Benoni, the go-to place for family and friends, and a great place to catch up quickly in our busy lives these days.

The managers are always so friendly and helpful, and all the waitstaff are consistently friendly and willing to go the extra mile for every client. I have been a loyal customer for 15+ years, and I will stay loyal as it's just so yummy, I can't resist. The food is outstanding and made with lots of love.

Every single waiter and team member who has ever served us is fantastic.

The food is absolutely amazing, and even when the restaurant is super busy, the kitchen staff—the unsung heroes who never get much credit—get the food out in a flash.
