• update* I received the promised call from head office. I chatted to an incredible competent and professional person, who actually apologised for my experience. The only one who did. After a lovely long chat, it was agreed that I will try my usual OB in CT..... but not when anybody knows I'm coming. My review will stand though until I get back to Hartenbos and I can see a tangeable change myself❤️

Attitude of a staff member had me very disillusioned about going there for lunch today and the next 6 days too for that matter. Had an issue at another store where he just pushed in front of me in the queue. When I mentioned that, he started throwing attitude and never let up. Refused to give me his name when asked as he was in branded OB clothing and mentioned that I will go tell them about this and turned his head when I told him I'll take a photo then, to prove to OB who it was. When I went there to speak to the manager, she did listen. But then this waiter came in full of bravado..."dis ekke, hier is ek" rather loudly I might add, for all to hear! That attitude is shocking for somebody who is in the service industry. As a result, I refuse to give my hard earned money to this establishment. There's are many other restaurants here in Hartenbos Seefront who will! I cannot give you his name and according to the popi act, I refuse to publish his photo which was only used to identify him to OB. It has already been deleted and the manager at OB knows exactly who I'm referring to. I do doubt however that anything will happen regarding this. It just means that I will not support them ever again. Good luck OB. One less, regularly once a week, customer wherever I go in SA! Good bye,...

What a awe full evening! We arrived at 20:50 ask the reception if the kitchen is still open and she confirmed and said they close at 22:00 ... We got seated and served by Marchelle (waiter). We order our drinks and starters. After a few minutes the waiter ask us to please our order for main course and told us they want to close early. We place our main course order and ask Marchelle politely to serve our starter first. Our food come ALL AT ONCE ...starter and main course I said to Marchelle we ask you not to serve all on one time.. He became very arrogant and told us they want to close .. Doors still open in front of house .. restaurant packed! So he rushed us off,. We had to ask for standard condements,. He didn't came back for another drink order! We Call the manager and he didn't even try to rectify .. After a while the waiter came back to clear the table .. didnt even ask if we would like to order anything else Clearly the waiter just want us out! Meanwhile the kitchen was still fully operational and busy preparing food. We are locals and we support this business through out the year but with this bad attitude and poor service I will never recommend anyone to Ocean...

Very disappointed that I ate here two days ago, had panko prawn cakes to start, famous fish & chips and a baklava cheesecake for desert with a large banana milkshake for drink. I said to the lovely new waitress that I have never eaten a cheesecake with a soggy base like this, and it was clear that nobody was prepared to do anything about it. It was not nice. Starter and main course was good.

Funny that when I asked if there was Wi Fi available, the answer was yes, but it’s only for the managers. I didn’t have the heart to mention that customers pay for the staffs wages, and that includes managers. That indicates that there’s no customer service and they only care for themselves is how that translates.

Worse still, I have awful diarrhoea and tummy pains since eating there two days ago and I’m hoping that the medication I purchased cures it.

A great location, and I for one don’t feel that my custom was welcome or appreciated so I have plenty of other options available that are far more customer focused and I have not experienced a really bad tummy from eating anywhere else.

I won’t be rushing back...
