Bootlegger Hartenbos — Restaurant in George

My boyfriend and I decided to try Bootlegger for the first time in Hartenbos. The food was delicious but we feel it was a bit expensive for what we got. Don't get me wrong, the bread, eggs, bacon cooked to perfection and real butter was mouth watering. The atmosphere is comfortable but the acoustic was a bit loud, would imagine that if you would play music it will be way to much. The restaurant wasn't even packed with people and still we needed to talk very loudly to hear each other. Further the coffee was one of my best that I've drank yet! To end this review I would like to compliment our waiter Ashwill for being so kind, friendly and considered. He did such a great job serving us that we would come back just for him to serve us again. Had a wonderful breakfast the morning at Bootlegger Hartenbos.

I was very surprised with a great breakfast special with TWO eggs, bacon, toast, grilled tamato and a coffee for only R 75.

Bacon was a big portion and grilled to perfection. My two kids had special made meals no questions asked and they enjoy the play area a lot! Great for parents! Coffee for my still the best I had in sometime.

Should also add that the service improved tremendously and staff was friendly, helpful and waiting time for food was very short. Owner also came to greet and ensure that the Bootlegger experience was good.

Coffee was fantastic but wish Americano cup size was a bit bigger. Paying around R33 for a tiiiiny cup. The cuppachino cup was waaay bigger. Why not the same cup sizes for coffee? Food was really good. Just waited for almost 45mins for breakfast. Bill was around R300 for 2 people and was still a bit hungry afterwards...so not the biggest portions. Still got "olifant poot" pancakes at the shop across the road since the food wasn't filling enough. Good place if you want something different or "gourmet"....but a bit on the expensive side.
