First review: We ordered the scone with cream, jam, and cheese. The cream, jam and cheese was great. However the butter was too hard. The scone was horrible. For R50 one would expect a decent scone? The cake we so wanted was really expensive at R70 and looked dry so we did not order that. The rest of the prices is exhorbitant and in today economy, it is no wonder to find the place is empty. The flat white coffee was great, however the little biscuit was not available. However on the menus it was advertised as a photo of coffee with a biscuit?). After our raming of 2 we were contracted by Mugg and Bean which we appreciated and we were advised that our food would be replaced. We did receive an sms fron a lady. However she only offered one coffee?! On our first visit we were two people with the same order. So we insisted that two coffees and two scones should be replaced. We had to send a few sms's as the staff did not respond?. But eventually they agreed. In the sms we were asked to speak to Lawrence. Second review When we arrived Lawrence assistance us. So we asked for the two cappucinos and 2 muffins. Two beautiful cappucinos arrived and this time with the biscuits! The two scones arrived with the cream and jam but the cheese was lacking. I got up to speak to a waiter who did not answer me! So I requested again to see Lawrence. He then got us the cheese. The scones were great and cappucinos and biscuits were delicious. We thank Mugg and Bean Head Office and Lawrence. We just have to say the service of South African restaurants are just not on the same level as overseas restaurants. I am now adjusting my review to a 3. As the cheese was not presente the first time on our second visit. It implicates lacking of attention. And also for the fact that our sms communication was many...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI write this with a heavy heart, despite the fact that we got the apology and that we even gave a tip but when I got home I realized just how unacceptable the situation was. We got there my daughter , my mom and myself, looking to have a nice lunch and a pleasant meal. Mom was in a wheelchair, the waitress led us in and we settled and menus were given to us. After that we were ignored and people who got there after us got served, mom then asked the baristas if people with disabilities donāt get served, eventually we asked some lady she then passed us to someone else the lady who had initially got us in, she eventually came and we were livid at this point and we asked why were we being ignored why were we being treated like we have a contagious disease? After some exchange of words , the lady then apologised and took our order, I was so livid at some point I didnāt even want to eat, to the point that after placing our orders I left the restaurant and took a walk just to calm my nerves. Imagine my teenager witnessing this, imagine my mom who had been looking forward to her outing despite the disability she was facing, imagine just how gut wrenching that whole experience was. We got our food and the service improved but however the sour experience lingered still, lingers now. I just want to say to everyone who was part of all of that, you guys need to do better , you need to learn to have empathy especially when dealing with people. I hope that someoneās mom never gets to experience what we experienced today. I think beyond anger Iām just disappointed in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy favorite Back bacon and Blueberry Bagel for breakfast, with a Cappuccino and Orange Juice.
So dissapointed, not enough nuts on Bagel as at other places. Packed with Berry's that should be in a paste. Cream cheese you can barely see.
And paper straws, so out dated and a nuisance.
Place was neat and clean with a good atmosphere. They are located in the mall and the mall was quiet 11am on a Saturday.
Staff was friendly and helpful but did not follow up about our food or if we needed anything else. Just drop and run.
If you in the mood for cold food then pop in. What a...
