With so many people telling me to visit, I took time during my trip to spend here.
I wish I found this place many years ago when their waffles were not so popular yet, because with the popularity came a hefty premium. To put it in clear context, take your credit card with, as the food is quite expensive.
The waitress told me, they give small portions, so I can order some more. Well, this didn’t sit well with me.
I cannot give a single ounce of bad commentary about the experience or food quality. The food is really as great as everyone else reported. The variety is amazing, freshly baked and presented really well.
I can honestly say that it is worth the visit.
I have to make the following recommendation and comments.
Take your menu, add a waffle star icon to each meal (menu item), that is proportional to the size of the meal, that way it is easier for new patrons to determine if the meal they buy will satisfy them or not. You cater to big and small, big guys want large meals, smaller people, children and ladies on the contrary do not want a large meal. Be creative here. Clean out the dead tamarisks on the pond, it was a bid off putting and stole away from the nice vibe that you have going there. Let the waiter guide your patron to a suitable spot, not letting them walk somewhere and while they prepare to sit, tell them that the area is closed. Affix prices to items in the curio shoppe, preventing one having to enquire about the price of each item. Visibly mark your establishment to oncoming traffic in both directions, not to be suddenly surprised with their arrival and having to slam on the brakes in the last second. Mark the additional parking across the road clearly, it will drastically reduce congestion in the parking lot. Apply for traffic calming measures from the local municipal traffic control. It is nearly impossible to enter traffic due to the speed of the oncoming traffic. Have a distinctive size difference between a large coffee and a regular hot chocolate. You cannot market a large coffee and when it arrives, it is the same size as a regular hot chocolate, this is very deceptive.
The waffle house has a unique idea and by optimising could see the business drastically expanding. I will definitely visit again to see if there is any improvements and update this review.
Thanks for a nice experience guys and gals!

Read moreMy wife and I had the opportunity to stay on the South Coast this past weekend. One of my favourite past times is a visit to the Waffle House in Ramsgate. There are few places that excite me, but the thought of going to the waffle house really makes my day.
This time was no exception and again we received a warm welcome and good service. The Waffle House is a comfortable family friendly restaurant that is always presentable, clean and neatly organised. Upon entry the first thing that always catches my eye is the beautiful free flow layout and the kitchen, highlighted by the morning sun as it peaks in through the big windows. You have the option of sitting outside with ample cover for shade on warm sunny days.
The food is really good. I have sampled a variety of savoury and sweet dishes in the past and enjoyed all. However, my personal favourite is the Hot Dutch Apple and Choc Mint waffle with a Cappuccino. The food is well priced and the portions are decent.
The staffs at Waffle House are friendly and helpful, and prompt in their acknowledgement of guest and service. The ambiance in my opinion can be summarised as comfortable, friendly and easy going with a professional touch attributed by the well trained staff that works at the Waffle House.
If you enjoy good food and the odd sweat treats on occasion then I highly recommend a stopover at the Waffle House next time you pass by the South Coast. Located roughly a 130Km from Durban, it is wonderfully situated at Ramsgate Beach, nestled alongside the lagoon right next to the R620 road (take Exist 29 of the R61). It is easily accessible with ample parking during off peak time and outside of season. Otherwise you may experience difficulty in finding any parking and most likely wait in a queue.

What it offers and does not disappoint: -sweet and savory waffles of all kind. absolutely incredible wait staff an epic place to bring small kids and family a really interesting view of the ocean with monkeys and birds all around.
At first we were seated outside near the kids area, which was great until the kids noticed the piano. Then it turned into a really loud and annoying atmosphere. As much as the kids were having, we asked to be moved as it was just so loud we couldn't hear each other talk and we were right next to each other. Just so thankful to staff for letting us move our table to a different part of the restaurant so we could carry on enjoying our time.
The iced coffee milkshake thingy was unbelievably good. So yummy.
The waffles were all crispy and delicious. Each topping really added something different. But knowing what to order is tricky as there were so many options as well as the daily specials. The mussels pot was good but so weird dipping a waffle in.
The salted caramel waffle stack was not as salted caramely as I was hoping but when I added the extra caramel sauce it was really good. The lemon meringue was just incredible.
It is fairly expensive but it is an experience that one should do if down in this part...
