Polipetto Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar — Restaurant in KwaDukuza Local Municipality

My husband and I visited on a Saturday morning around 11am. I ordered 12 peri peri prawns which was ok. He ordered a prawn and calamari curry for R205 and got 1 deshelled prawn and 1 shelled prawn for “presentation”. We complained. The server took it to the kitchen and someone came to apologise and said the prawns were under and it’s getting re-plated. 5mins later. The manage returned with the meal in a small vessel highlighting he counted the prawns. There was about 10 calamari piece. A lot of gravy dripping of the side of the bowl and messing the plate. Pathetic to be treated like liars over food. My husband paid for the entire meal but sent it back to the kitchen. He didn’t eat anything. I won’t recommend an establishment that doesn’t take pride in giving a wonderful eating experience. If we find ourselves in a place to eat. We expect to eat a reasonable amount of food for the price.

Since i am unable to leave a reply to the APPALLING AND VERY DEFENSIVE reply OF LIES on my review which is insulting our character and authencity regarding leaving a honest review. I AM ALSO NOT LEAVING A REVIEW ANONYMOUSLY BECAUSE I AM TELLING THE TRUTH!!!!! Thats the first sign of a genuine person.

I will write here, THAT REPLY IS A COMPLETE LIE!!! AS PERSON YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF TO BE SO DISPICABLE and writing back to me in this appalling manner. You as a restaurant owner should investigate before speaking more lies!!!! LIE 1 - NO 10 PRAWNS WHERE ADDED- ABSOLUTELY ZERO EXTRA, the lady said they were re-plating because the prawns were under. You waitress saw for herself. LIE 2 - THE MANAGER BROUGHT THE FOOD AND DIDN'T SAY 10 prawns where added, he claimed he counted it and they put it into a bowl so we could see, he insulted us by even saying that. LIE 3 - WE DIDN'T GET A NEW CURRY, the manager said they added more gravy. Hence the dripping of the bowl and messing the plate. Why the need to count prawns if you adhered to a proper ratio for an advertised meal? Your kitchen did crook us, you are not dealing with a bunch of idiots here. Your first step should to be address your staff and those who represent your establishment. LIE 4 - YOU ARE TELLING LIES AND SAYING MY HUSBAND ATE THE MEAL WHEN YOU AND YOUR KITCHEN STAFF AND WAITRESS SAW THE PLATE COMING BACK TO THE KITCHEN. DON'T BE FILTHY LIARS PLEASE. WHO THE HELL WILL EAT A MEAL AFTER 2 PEOPLE CLAIMED WE COULDN'T SEE PRAWNS OR COUNT!!!!!!!! ARE YOU FEELING OK TO BE WRITING LIES? REALLY??????? NO ONE ASKED YOU TO BE MIND READERS, ITS YOUR DUTY TO PROVIDE A GOOD SERVICE TO ALL PATRONS AND SERVE MEALS IN A QUANTITY THAT IS WELL BALANCED! 2 PRAWNS WHERE GIVEN IN THE DISH AND THAT IS NOT A LIE.

Polipetto is an amazing place to be at.

The food was extremely satisfying and of great quality. My wife had ordered sushi and I had ordered the peri-peri prawns. To our surprise, we received our meals in a short while (even though they were busy). The peri-peri prawns is served with a decent portion of rice and has two heat levels (mild or peri-peri) - bare in mind that the peri-peri sauce is pretty spicy. If you're not one for too spicy foods, I'd recommend trying the mild option.

There's a variety of foods to choose from, as well as drinks. We went last week Wednesday and they had a special on their Castle Lite dumpies for R25!!

The view from the restaurant/bar is impeccable!! This place overlooks the ocean which is amazing!

We received good service from our waiter. A big thumbs up to Ricardo who was humble and efficient.

It was Mothers day, so you will expect everything to be top notch. The service was terrible, we were 5 diners, firstly was not even greeted by waiteress she looked like she didn't want to be there,she took half the drink order and forgot about the rest of the patrons at the table. We waited a long time for just 2 drinks to arrive. Then waited a long time for sushi to arrive, 5 patrons, but only 2 sets of sushi accomplishments. The cutlery set for the mains were given, but only 4 sets. Mind you the place was not very busy, so it was mind bogling as to why the service was so pathetic. We ordered the family platter, food was okay, but we were not even given finger bowls or wet wipes to wipe our hands, no extra basket to put the prawn shells into, we had to continually ask for things, which was already supposed to be placed at the table.
