Would have loved to give them 5 Stars, but due to bad service experience for now it can only be 3 stars. We had a nice Breakfast here a while ago. Today however we had a really terrible experience. After being seated for 30min I had to request a menu. The Waiter then served a group that came 20min after us took their orders while we still waited to place a order. 1 hour later I got my Cappuccino and Orange Juice. I ordered a Crispy open Baguette with Chickenstrips instead I was served Dry ciabatta with super dry chicken and oil soaked chips. My Wife ordered Eggs Benedict, but the Kitchen mixed up the order and brought out something she didnt order. I then asked the Waiter for Tomato sauce 10min later still no sauce my Food getting Cold, My Wife still didnt have food replaced by then. At this point I had enough and decided to speak to a Supervisor. She professionally apologized for the bad Service and Mix up in the Kitchen. We where offered a Piece of Cake as a Apology, wich we thankfully declined. My only wish is that higher service Standards are being raised in line with the pricing of the establishment. The Location is nice and tranquil and I believe my bad experience today was due to the high number of Patrons overwhelming Staff. "Rocky Road Cheesecake!". If those three words don't twirl your beanie and have you reaching for the car keys, then you are missing out on this hidden gem.

Tucked away in the forest area near the beaches of of Ballito, the WaterBerry Coffee Shoppe is a surprise. I noticed on Google Maps that it was walking distance from our holiday accommodation, so we took a stroll to check the place out. I expected a small coffee shop in a local mini-mall, or maybe as part of a house but we were knocked out when we discovered what is hidden amongst the trees. Waterberry is a big, open, modern establishment but is tied nicely to the surrounding forest so even when seated inside (veranda seating is also available) you can experience the natural vibe.

The shop also sells various preserves, coffees and other gifts so a browse amongst the displays is worth it.

So much for the shop, but the food alone will knock your socks off. We had several visits to Waterberry over the course of our holiday and each time we enjoyed our time there. From full breakfasts, to coffee and cheesecake, the food is excellent and the service is great. I cannot recommend The Waterberry highly enough. If you go to Ballito and don't visit Waterberry, then you have missed out on one lf life's great...
