If you’re in search of a restaurant that knows its way around prime cuts and plates them with confidence, Butcher Boys Ballito delivers with style. Our evening began with lamb ribs and a ribeye steak, both perfectly cooked, generously flavoured, and served with just the right touch of attentiveness. The kids, not to be outdone, tucked into their surf and turf choices of prawns, calamari, and chicken. Each dish was fresh and tender, though the crumbed calamari tubes could benefit from a whisper more seasoning, a minor note in an otherwise well played symphony of flavours.
The wine list was extensive, the meat cuts plentiful. A definite bonus for anyone who appreciates a menu that offers choice without compromise. The ambiance added to the experience: an inviting open-air section that carries the coastal breeze, though it’s worth noting this isn’t the spot for those chasing a sea view with their steak.
Service was excellent throughout. The waiters were not only attentive but genuinely warm, which lifted the dining experience beyond just good food and into the realm of hospitality.
As for value, the pricing sits comfortably in line with other reputable meat restaurants, fair, if not exceptional, given the quality and consistency delivered.
Would we return? Yes. Butcher Boys Ballito proves that when it comes to pairing a great cut with good company, they know exactly how to keep guests coming...

Our visit yesterday was a mix of very good and disappointing moments.
What was good:
· The online reservation is simple and straightforward. ·The welcome was very warm and the staff were consistently nice. ·The first course, the lamb spare ribs, was absolutely sensational – big compliments to the kitchen! ·The recommended wine, although expensive, was of excellent quality.
What was not so good:
· The advice from the waiter at the table seemed uncertain, especially regarding the wines. There didn't seem to be any in-depth knowledge; instead, the most expensive wine was offered straight away. ·With such an extensive and expensive red wine selection on the menu, I would expect a corresponding red wine glass. The standard wine glass was a disappointment here. ·The sirloin steak as the main course was only average and couldn't live up to the first course. ·A negative point was the extra charge for a few fresh chili peppers for my wife's dish. Having to pay extra for a small addition that is often free elsewhere is a shame and feels petty.
Conclusion: A nice restaurant with potential, which unfortunately seems to focus too much on sales (expensive wines, extra charges) rather than on a completely convincing dining experience. The equipment (like the glasses) doesn't live up to the...
Read moreI walked into this very new and well interior designed restaurant with the hopes of having an excellent piece of red meat, I was definitely not disappointed! Welcomed with a bright smile, warm lights and cozy decorations created a very inviting atmosphere. Immediately recognising tables already having a good laugh, I knew this was going to be a good restaurant. The waitress attending our table (Rie) served with excellency and utter friendliness, she has a satisfying amount of knowledge about the menu aswell as various aspects of the restaurant. The food was of utmost quality and taste, my plate arrived beautifully, the steak had a delectable taste paired with the creamy, buttery and deep flavourful sauce. My only negative critique is as follows: the music, whoever in charge, please change the music to be more warm and inviting instead of the soulless, annoying and repetitive beats festering your ears constantly, it breaks the warm inviting atmosphere completely, overall I had a very good experience and would comeback anytime, definitely come here if you want to sleep with a...
