What a complete disaster. My children arrived today. Check in time 15:00. On arrival, there was already a queue of +-25 people waiting to check in. Rooms were not ready; according to (lack of management), they had a shortage of linen. Undercover allocated parking was unavailable. As I booked a self-catering unit, their meat and fresh products were subjected to the heat and the vehicle in the sun. At 19:35 this evening, they were granted access to the unit, still no towels. (There were still people waiting) I strongly suggest that RCI reconsider their involvement with this holiday accommodation as this tarnishes the RCI brand. There is definitely bad (no) management, administration, control, and supervision. These foto's were taken at 16:45 of the "allocated unit" Great location, unfortunately bad management. 👎 Dear owner/manager, Thank you for your response to my review. The following should please be noted. My children are still guests at La Montagne. On Monday, 3 January, they still had no towels. Monday evening, the braai had not been cleaned (my son cleaned it himself). Many of the items in the kid's entertainment area are broken or as stated "out of order." Once again. Lack of maintenance. Tuesday 4 January, still no towels, and on returning back from the beach at 16:00, the unit was still not cleaned, dishes were left half washed, etc. On both occasions, they went to reception to ask for towles and to bring this to the attention of management only to be told, "Sorry." One glimmer of light is one of the garden attendants (in the pool area), which is undoubtedly proud of his work. He is always busy, washing and arranging the deckchairs, cleaning the pool, and maintaining the pool area. Bravo to him. Nothing attention has been given to the other issues. Not by the owner, manager, or supervisors. It's still worth only 1 🌟 shape up. You are losing clients. Your location is amazing; however, if your clients leave before their time, then a beautiful location, beach, and updated lifeguards will not save your reputation.

Place has too many day visitors and the day visitor has priority over the guest staying on the property. Food and beverage Staff are friendly and are eager to provide a service, the reception staff, not so much. The astro turf by the pool does not look like it gets cleaned on a regular basis, your feet are black once you are off it. Smoking area by the pool is right next to the childrens play area, not well thought out concerning rules and regulations. Our room was not ready for 15h00 check in, we were eventually allowed to go up to our unit at 16h30 where the room was still not completely serviced. The floors were sopping wet and were still dirty as if a broom has never touched the floor. The linnen was not in a satisfactory state, full of hair balls, full of oil stains, Hair was lying all over the unit. Toilet was not cleaned and the previous occupants rubbish was still in the bathrooms rubbish bin. The shower floor still had sea sand from the previous occupants stay. We bought our own broom and mop and cleaned the place ourseleves see photos atrached .There is no clothes horse to hang your swimming costumes, when we asked reception -it was a no we dont provide a clothe horse. We had 2 ironing boards in the room but no Iron. The place caters for the party and not for the family. Housekeeping Management is possibly unaware to what is happening on their site and possibly dont care. The cleaner arrives on the floor to start cleaning her quota at 09h50. The key card had to be reset everyday. We did not stay our full stay. Unfortunately lamontagne will not be seeing me and my family again. SIES SIES SIES.

From start to finish my husband and myself did not have a good experience. Upon arrival at La Montagne at 15.15 we checked in and proceeded to our room. The cleaner was still busy cleaning the room and we had to wait on the balcony for 30 mins. The balcony was dirty, cigarettes and sushi stuck papers all around as well as a rusted braai. When the cleaner was done she left the unit - the floor soaking wet and it did not smell fresh. We noticed the poor state of the unit - it was not very clean, rusted, poorly kept, the headboard was peeling and cracked, bath cracked and stained, ceiling dropping. We phoned reception and were told they cannot assist with a room change and would let us know. I called back the next day and was told I could go have a look at another room again when going in the cleaner had not cleaned and the room was in a poor condition. We decided to stay in the room we had and said we wouldn’t be returning to La Montagne on holiday again. We were called on Sunday and told that we were supposed to be out and that our booking was not until the Monday as we had requested. They did not try accommodate us or to fix their mistake that they made on our booking. We had to leave and find alternative accommodation during a peak season. Overall the staff were not helpful and the accommodation is unhygienic and dilapidated.

First time visiting the resort and was looking forward to the trip. We had issues from the time we arrived. As we came as a family, we booked 2 x four sleepers. Even though we booked months in advance, we expected to be provided adjacent units but there were about units between us.||We were on bed and breakfast rate, a word of advice to the reader, do not book with breakfast, it is not buffet and breakfast is limited to R130 and limited to the breakfast menu. Many items that one would expect to be included is not. I had to pay in every single day even though I prepaid for breakfast.||What made the trip really terrible was that one of units toilet was not working for the entire stay. We had to share toilets between units. Maintenance attempted to fix it everyday without success. I suggested a unit change but was not granted one. The day we were checking out the Maintenance team decided to change the toilet mechanism, I suppose for the next guest. We had and 81 year old and 75 year old pensioners who had play musical toilets between our units. And reminder that the units were not adjacent. When I reported the matter to the GM, she was apologetic, but did not offer any compensation for the material inconvenience, imagine not having a functional toilet. Will email the First Resorts head office regarding this issue.||When going down to the beach, we could not get beach towels, they were always taken, even though i saw a white guest just being served towels. When requested to use the room towels as an alternative, we were not allowed. The lady at the towel counter was extremely unfriendly, as if she was doing me a favor. ||When ordering meals or drinks, the staff took forever to serve us. When we lucky enough to be served, they dissappear and you lucky to see then in the next 30 min. It's a pity as there are many restaurants and bars. We also tried to eat at the bar on the 4th floor and even though we arrived at about 12h00, it appears the table was reserved from 15h30 and was told we could not use the table. I am sure would have been done by 14h00, well before the 15h30 reservation ||The rooms are a bit dated,, but livable. The location to the...
