Amsterdam Bar & Grill — Restaurant in KwaZulu-Natal

I find myself going to Amsterdam Bar & Grill for a drink or a meal many times when I've been working in the city (my work office is in the Outer West), especially when it's been a long day. I love the atmosphere, which is casual and relaxed, and enjoy the friendly service of the staff. My favorite meal is their mixed platter of chicken strips, wings and chips - it's quite a big meal and at only R85 (2018 price) is reasonable for what you get. They also serve beer in quarts (for those days when one is cash-sensitive lol) in addition to the usual dumpies (330 ml) and 400/500 ml draughts. On certain nights, Amsterdam features live artists, usually young and upcoming, but always of outstanding talent and quality. If you haven't been here, do yourself a favour and go. You'll find yourself coming...

It's a very chilled place! You can be with a group of 20+plus people, and you'll fit perfectly. You will also have just as much fun as a couple. Easy to meet people and make friends there, so feel free to go alone. Staff there are really good and down to earth, with management that works hard and know when to have fun. There's ways a great vibe at Amsterdam, even on the odd quiet night. They have stand up comedy twice a month and always something different on a Friday night! Also, if you get there during happy hour...you'll meet all sorts of people. Best experience ever at this venue! Definitely a place to visit when on holiday and if you're local, it makes a great place for your regular...

I had the worst experience at this place on davenport, I was there Saturday night with my friends and I had a mild asthma attack went out to get my pump from the car, when I came back we were denied access and told to wait in line with everyone else. Not even worrying about the fact that I can't stand for long as I wasn't OK enough to hold the que. A minute later they let in some people from the back of the line which were of foreign nationality like the bouncers who told us to wait on line to get back inside to our table. They threw slures at me and my friend and really didn't care about the poor service they provided. I wouldn't recommend this...
