Always enjoyed popping in for a cappuccino when they were in the Station Road precinct, so decided to pay them a visit in the new premises in Glenwood. Savior Cafe is housed in a beautiful old, lovingly restored Victorian home. The rooms, with high ceilings are light and airy and there is also a magnificent wrap around verandah if you prefer to be outside. When we arrived there were a couple in one of the inside rooms and we were the second table on the verandah ... by the time we left every table was occupied. We weren't planning on eating anything, but then remembered I was collecting my licence card at the Road Testing grounds and reckoned sustaince may be required for the lengthy wait ... and glad we did! We both had the Breakfast Bun - 2 rashers of streaky bacon, 1 fried egg, lettuce & tomato on a soft portuguese roll. Superb! Cappuccinos were as good as ever. Staff friendly and efficient. Their is a display of Savior leather goods in the front room. Highly recommended.

We looked around for all day breakfast spot and stumbled upon Savior Cafe on Google and boy were we pleased with our decision to try it out. Greeted with a warm friendly smile and then allowed to take our fur baby with us was awesome. Our waiter (a young Indian gentleman whose name I don't recall) recommended the fried chicken burger for first timers. It was out of this world good. The chicken was still tender and juicy and coated with such a light crispy and perfectly seasoned batter, not forgetting that the fillet was twice the size of the burger bun that it came in. I highly recommend the burger and I know that I will be going back there repeatedly. The cafe brekkie was also good but I demolished mine and ate half of my wife's burger šŸ¤“

The food was decent, I can't fault it much. Service was also decent by our waiter who was extremely friendly. Some of the other waiters didn't seem very clued up though. The main reason for a 3 star review and why I won't be coming back anytime soon is the cleanliness. The tablecloth was dirty and had crumbs (also had holes in it). Outside is quite rustic and flies might worry you.

On the upside, the setting is enchanting and service was friendly, attentive and prompt. Sadly it was all downhill from there. The abundance of flies in attendance at the verandah table required constant arm flailing until a Bee-line, insect helicopter type repellant mechanism was eventually provided. The overall quality of the warm chicken salad was mediocre and indifferent.. The chicken fillet had clearly been sacrificed hours previously and was simply reheated, and served as a diced and desiccated left-over on a flattened bed of unexciting greens. What would it have cost the chef to grill a chicken fillet to order? Instead one is given an epitome of laziness; showing deliberate disregard and contempt for basic culinary standards. The pasteis de Nata are to be avoided at all costs. They must once have been tasty (when ordered-in?) before being served ice-cold and chewy. One wonders whether the chef actually understood or is actually aware of the unique fusion of a warm creamy egg-yolk custard and light, crispy, flaky pastry? A "New York" Cheese cake that would be guilty of identity theft! To top it off, a Milo milkshake appeared to have miraculously been made without a trace of a grain of Milo..... Will I take overseas visitors there, as guests, ever again? Rhetorical question..... In short it was mutton dressed-up as lamb. An experience not to...

I went back today for the first time in 2 years since my last review to see if things had improved, unfortunately not. I waited for 20 minutes for a poached egg which was cold when it got to the table and I had to send it back. Coffee arrived with no sugar, I waited another 5 minutes for sugar. All in all service was slack. Such a pity as the venue is lovely. I hope the owners see feedback as constructive and make the necessary improvements.

Great food and venue but disappointed in the service. Waiter didn't come near my table to see if i wanted anything else, eventually when he did appear well after I had finished eating I asked for the bill and I saw he had charged me for bottomless coffee, when I ordered filter coffee he didn't ask if I wanted the bottomless, I had no idea there was that option. I did order a second cup after I saw the bill as I had paid the extra for bottomless, but at an upmarket venue the waiters ought to be more attentive. Hopefully my review will be noted as constructive as I don't tip when...
