The Lookout — Restaurant in KwaZulu-Natal

Customer Service: Our waiter (I cannot remember the name clearly but I believe it’s Misa) was friendly but not particularly memorable or exceptional. There is a lot of room for a little more warmth and engagement at the beginning, to elevate the experience.

As a first time customer I would have appreciated more insight around the menu, popular and personal favourites.

She did checked up on us regularly which was appreciated.

Food: I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, which was on their Monday Special list. Chicken was prepared beautifully but the marinara sauce, cheese and vegetables lacked any proper flavour and taste.

Condiments were basic, such as tomato and tabasco sauce but didn’t do a lot to help elevate the flavour of the meal.

The cappuccino was one of the best I have tasted, exceptionally prepared.

Ambiance: Atmosphere was beautiful. The view of the ocean and nearby surroundings were breathtaking. I enjoyed the music that was played.

Aesthetic: A very visually appealing restaurant. If you’re someone who enjoys social media content as much as myself, this restaurant is a definite go-to.

Overall Service: It was a pleasant experience, the atmosphere and cappuccino are the only reasons why I would go back. I would love to give the food a second chance and try out...

I have just left the Look Out Restaurant and was most disappointed with the ox tail meal.There was 1 meaty bone only in the entire portion. I have eaten there before many times so knew that something was amiss.The beans in the meal was gone off. After the waiteress related the incident to the manager,the manager did not approach us to apologise or explain as to why we were served a half portion meal that looked like yesterdays left overs.We had to further pay for the lousy meal. As we exited the Look Out I approached the manager with the complain that she admitted that she was aware of the issue and her response was 'I brought it to the notice of the kitchen' 'I apologize ' Any manager that did their job properly would have immediately approached the guests at the table and apologized for portion size, presentation and rotten beans. Worst experience

Walked in with my friend and asked for a table for 2 and was told to follow our waiter Marvin. Sat down and ordered a mojito, a Long Island iced tea and a bar menu. He leaves and 10 minutes later he returns with my Long Island but no mojito and no menu. Asked again for the menu after he said the mojito would be out in a bit. He comes back after another 5 minutes with the menu and says nothing about the mojito. From our seats, Marvin was sitting on his phone doing what I can only describe as nothing. 20 minutes later my friend had had enough and walked to the bar to say that they didn’t want the mojito and that we would just pay for the Long Island and leave without any food as well.
