Bear Creek Spur — Restaurant in Matlosana Local Municipality

We decided to go to Spur for breakfast to celebrate woman's day.. entered at 5 to 11.00...no one in sight and eventually a young lady comes to assist... we requested an outside table... no Covid protocol was in place here which was strange as the Spur in the mall takes your temp upon entry.. you sign a book and your hands are sanitized... Nothing at Bear Creek... we were also seated at a dirty table...and handed normal menus as breakfast was now closed... I thought I had 5 minutes to spare? Lady then departed without a word??.. well that was the end of our visit and up we got and took our business elsewhere where we were made to feel welcome... Spur that was a real disappointment

We once again decided to revisit our local Spur, date today is 07/01/2022, it took time as I really was not in the mood to go... armed with low expectations we arrived and were greeted at the door by a young vibrant lady by the name of Debbie.. she assisted us with ejecting the sanitiser from the dispenser at the door, (that sanitiser does not work like all the others!! ) with a joke and a smile we were lead to our table where another bottle of sanitiser was given for our own use . Masks in place. Covid Protocols were tops!! Our table was spotless, the menu was issued and drinks were ordered. This ladies service was on another level, It made me aware that good service is key in any restaurant, she was vigilant , assisting us and being in control of our experience , she kept us updated to time frames, made food recommendations that were spot on. It was just so perfect that I mentioned to hubby that you would think that they knew we were coming :) but that was impossible, this was her normal every day service. The manager came to our table to meet and greet , our food arrived and the meal was as always top of the range. The magic key to our experience was the super service , and Spur over delivered on that. Thank you Bear Creek Spur , I can guarantee you that you will be seeing a lot more of me. A special thank you to Dennis and Debbie for showing me what Bear Creek spur really offers.. Amazing service, Amazing family meals and an Amazing experience...

Waitresses are not on the ball. Service is slow even when it was not busy. When we finally received the food, there was a mixup with the order. Eventually got it sorted. Only 2/6 meals were good.

We were sereved RAW eisbein. When addressing the concern of undercooked pork being served, we were told that they will just recook our meat that was already served and partially eaten from. How do you even consider this as an option? Surely this is against food safety regulations to take contaminated food back into a clean galley and recook it in the same galley preparing fresh food to others? How clean is the food were were all served then?

After a huge ordeal, the person which we assumed was the branch manager came over to apologize and agreed the meat was way undercooked and arranged for the 2 meals to be replaced and not recooked like the other guy advised us. By this time dissappiontment and disgust already set in and the 2 persons who ordered the eisbein in our party had lost their appetite. Good thing because the food never came in time.

When the replacement meals arrived the meat was now extremely overcooked and very dry, some areas had a biltong texture to it.

We were all brought soft serve ice cream for the inconvenience, despite some of us already ordered dessert that included ice cream.

We handed out the additional ice cream given to us, to other customers around us, because the abundance of ice cream would have wasted.

Were charged full price despite two persons not eating as the replacement food arrived way after everone finished their dessert already.

Terrible service, terrible food. After booking a table for my little girls birthday party at Bear Creek Spur Klerksdorp, I will never go there again.

We got there our table wasn't ready, they didn't even know our name. we were squashed in like sardines, after making a booking a week in advance we had to wait for another birthday party to finish before we could sit properly. We waited 2 hours for our food that includes drinks. The kids that attended the party didn't receive what was promised for example the little bag with a toy in it. (maybe if our table was set up properly this wouldn't have happened) Viennas was dried out (looked very similar to dried fruit)

We were told that if we have more than 10 kids for the party we will receive a cake which we did, a ring cake that was barely enough for the kids.

We had a bill of R3500.00 we paid for terrible service, terrible food and a disappointment at the end of the day. I was told that someone would phone me the next day about the above mentioned, and I am still waiting
