Coobah Klerksdorp — Restaurant in Matlosana Local Municipality

Very discriminatory.

My mom and I came up to the door, asked for table for two at around 18:30 and looked inside and outside and there were tables galoooore. We had about three people come up to us and go inside, disappear for a while and have them whisper among themselves.

We already knew what was going on as the only two black faces in a sea of white Afrikaaner faces already seated. We already knew they would deny us entry, but just wanted to play it out.

Sure enough by the forth waiter who approached us, we had the "we're sorry, we don't have any tables we can offer you". I easily counted twelve open chairs on the outside area spanning three tables and inside, right across from us was a booth that had NOBODY. There wasn't anybody even sitting at the bar.

So, we just looked at each other, smiled, shrugged our shoulders and left. But I tell you, the servers here have TOP TIER fake smiles but racist nonetheless. We've lived in Klerksdorp our entire lives and have experienced racism before and after apartheid but this was a special flavour.

It's almost as if they didn't know what to do with us standing there waiting for them to tell us we were not welcome in the establishment. Shameful and just utterly distasteful.

Myself and my sister along with our spouses visited this restaurant about a week ago... the. men ordered a Windhoek draft which was advertised on special by means of a holder on the table.. the waiter returned and informed them it was unfortunately out of stock so the order changed to a Castle.. also out of stock... then she informed them they had Windhoek light which we said was fine... she returned once again apologized as this was also out of stock.... the food ordered was really nice even though it took a while... we returned to the restaurant for breakfast two days later and ordered a breakfast special with 2 filter coffees.. arrived at 11 and the food was served at 12..again was really nice yet still no coffee😂😂be prepared to wait... this restaurant...

This place has been our Saturday spot for a long time, but after today we won’t be coming back. One of the waiters actually threatened to call the police on us just because we were making a harmless joke about a friend getting flowers. That’s not only ridiculous — it’s racism. To treat regular customers this way is beyond disrespectful. Mind you it was the first time the guys sees us. Our every weekend waiter was embarrassed and We spend our money here every weekend after a run, and instead of being appreciated, we were intimidated and the Absolutely unacceptable.

Honestly it was the first time seeing this guy and he was willing to fight. The usual manager never...
