Orange Restaurant — Restaurant in Mbombela

After a very short change of venue decision by our host due to unforseen circimstances at the original venue, the Orange Restaurant manager and staff, went out of their way to accommodate 20 guests at their establishment. The table was fully set and decorated for the occasion within minutes of being notified.

The service was impeccable. Service staff was warm, welcoming well trained.

The atmosphere was calm with a stunning view of a portion of Nelspruit and a lush and shady tree under which you can stand and enjoy it.

The food was beautifully presented. Melon and parma ham skewers - the melon was not cold and rather flavourless and watery which did not compliment the smokey taste of the parma ham as it should when it is sweet and cold. Duck and orange salad - duck was rendered well and cooked perfectly, layered between slices of peeled orange wedges and a glaze on a bed of mixed leaves and delicate slices of melba toast, but slighly under seasoned. You can add salt to taste, but the uncooked salt just doesn't do the carefully prepared duck...

After a long time we decided to revisit Orange restaurant and our experience wasn't worthy right from the start. It was lunch time and during week day, yet our food took quite long time to make it to our table such that you can go for a leisure drive during the time you wait. Secondly, we could see our waiter was beyond stressed probably she had to manage all the other not so busy tables all by herself She got our drinks wrong as a result. The staffing is reduced but not at the cost of quality service. And after all the wearisome wait, one would expect the food to make up for it. The food was below average, more than 5 dishes were ordered and none had flavour, texture or seasoning, the venison was very chewy and surprisingly they didnt have salmon, chateaubriand was hard and rubbery. The price can not be justified for the poor quality and service you provide. #Really dismayed #lost...

Place was nice our hostess was Heather nice young lady when we got there we were told the place closes at 16h00 & we ask to order food as something came up we left but we came back the manager Ray told us that they have change times they are closing at 15h00 & we were forced to to eat our food in 15minutes didn't enjoy it her service was terrible after we were told that the places closes at 16h00 she should have also stick to that and I could hear her shouting from the back saying we said we were going to be bck in 15 minutes we dnt control traffic and we were within that time frame Heather told us about whether we came back 15 or 30 minutes later it ddnt matter closing time was said to be 4 not 3 hope next time she treats customers in a...
