What an incredible evening! We attended a wedding reception at La Cuccina recently. Wow!! The food was out of this world. Every flavour you can think of, and the most delicious dishes. The evening started with canapés which were spinakapitas, thai veg spring rolls, Italian meatballs, bobotie parcels, caprese bruschetta, honey glazed brie bruschetta and chicken kebabs. We were so full and content after the canapés and to be honest would almost have been enough for us. BUT then the Harvest Table was later opened up for the mains!!! The choice was almost unchoosable which resulted in us sampling something of everything. Was exquisite. Taste bud adventure deluxe!!! Just to mention a few of the dishes.....beef sirloin, beef short ribs, tuscan chicken, butter chicken curry, mushrow cashew curry etc etc. Our meal was honestly one of the best we have ever had, and there was more than enough of everything for everyone in attendance. The desserts were outstanding too! Sadly I had no space to sample all of them 😞 😉....but the chocolate brownie was very decadent and a perfect round off to our amazing meal matched with superb wines and awesome company and the most gorgeous bride and groom. Highly recommend you dine at La Cuccina in Newlands!!! You will be...

It is a brick and mortar façade as you enter, there is plenty of seating, inside and outside. Its perfect for solo diners as the outside seating has parapet facing single seats with a wonderful view.
I was warmly welcomed to my seat, had a cappuccino and bread/omelets for breakfast. Coffee was great and so was the meal but I was blown away by the in house condiments especially the tomato chutney/relish which is available for purchase generally but unfortunately was out of stock that day. Bill was between 100-120 with tip, presumably the owner was doing the rounds, checking up on things and greeting the guests. He was gracious enough to recommend coming for Sunday roast/lunch to me while I was leaving the establishment.
With the pleasant experience I had during my quick visit here, I will surely be back for the Sunday lunch if I'm in the Newlands area. Only feedback is to never have your most popular item like relish out of stock for...

Enough butter Very delicious? homemade strawberry jam and the chili jam that goes so well with the creamy rich scrambled eggs Who thouht that one can still rave about scrambled eggs ?
