We visited Seven Colours Eatery on a Thursday evening for a work function with our small South African team and members of our UK leadership team. I felt compelled to arrange something with a bit more cultural significance — and Seven Colours absolutely did not disappoint.
As they only open in the evenings for larger bookings, we had the entire space to ourselves, which made the evening feel incredibly special. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely host who introduced us to a selection of delicious starters, paired perfectly with local wines and gins. The starters were absolutely fantastic, and the family-style dining created a relaxed and intimate atmosphere that encouraged conversation and sharing.
The mains, also served family-style, were equally impressive. I tried a bit of everything, and each dish was packed with flavour and prepared with so much care. We also had some special dietary requirements in the group, and the kitchen catered for them beautifully — nothing felt like an afterthought.
Later, we had the pleasure of meeting the talented Chef Nolu, who shared the story and inspiration behind the Seven Colours concept. Her passion and warmth were the perfect finishing touch to what was already an incredible experience.
I highly recommend this restaurant — take your friends, your family, your team — and enjoy this truly magical culinary experience. Support this beautiful,...

On visit 3 the Hardbody chicken and Samp were my choices. On the 4th stop, Oxtail and Turmeric rice provided the best combination yet! I don't like spinach, so I've asked to have that side dish left out, but was very pleased, on visit 4 when my partner was along, that a little dish of my spinach was brought for them! The staff here are so friendly and welcoming, and the food is amazing. I'm hoping to have another visit before heading home.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Our first meal of our trip to Cape Town was very, very delicious! Seven Colours Eatery has wonderful food and terrific service. We each had the daily option, although my partner had the Beef Potjie with Samp, and I had the Cape Malay Pulled Chicken and Steamed Buns. All were delicious. The Chakalaka was my favourite from the four side dishes, but all were good. My partner had the Rooibos Iced Tea, and I had the Brutal Fruit Ruby Apple. Considering the generous portions, great flavours, and friendly attentive staff, Seven Colours Eatery is quite reasonably priced. An excellent start to our visit!
Highly recommended. June...
Read moreYou must make your way to Seven Colours Eatery. We are visiting from the U.S. We were looking for authentic South African food. Seven Colours didn’t disappoint. It is the real deal, like the REAL DEAL! Everything on the menu looked delicious, you can’t go wrong. I ordered the special of the day - beef potjie with sorghum and the array of colorful veggies. It took time for the food to arrive - in a good way - so you know you are getting a freshly prepared meal. The food was one of the best authentic meals I have had in a long time. Rich in flavor, bursting with color, and made with love! The staff were friendly and attentive. We had the pleasure of meeting Nolu, the owner. Nolu - keep it going, you’ve got something special. Thank you for giving us the food of your homeland, at a truly reasonable price. FYI - The Eatery closes at 6p so go for...
