UPDATE: The Seven Colours daily plate has drawn me in for two more visits (third and fourth in total) as I work my way through the menu. On visit 3 the Hardbody chicken and Samp were my choices. On the 4th stop, Oxtail and Turmeric rice provided the best combination yet! I don't like spinach, so I've asked to have that side dish left out, but was very pleased, on visit 4 when my partner was along, that a little dish of my spinach was brought for them! The staff here are so friendly and welcoming, and the food is amazing. I'm hoping to have another visit before heading home. Such a wonderful experience! We each had the daily option, although my partner had the Beef Potjie with Samp, and I had the Cape Malay Pulled Chicken and Steamed Buns. All were delicious. The Chakalaka was my favourite from the four side dishes, but all were good. My partner had the Rooibos Iced Tea, and I had the Brutal Fruit Ruby Apple. Considering the generous portions, great flavours, and friendly attentive staff, Seven Colours Eatery is quite reasonably priced. An excellent start to our visit! Highly recommended. I ordered at 11.15 and had to wait until after 12 o‘clock. There were three other customers and at least 5 people in their kitchen. They totally forgot about me, only when I asked they were surprised that I had ordered (and paid) and started to prepare my order. It seemed that they also got my order wrong and I payed for something else but at least they gave me the rest for free and apologized. When they finally brought me the food it was in a take out container for some reason. I actually wanted to eat there. It was a pity that my last proper meal in SA was in a take out container but they were in general very friendly and the food was also really good. I would come back in spite of what had happened, though I can‘t bring myself to give more than two stars right now.

2 seven colors plates. One with steamed buns and tripe. Another with beans and oxtail. The oxtail was my favorite it literally fell off the bone clean. Super tender with amazing flavor. The concept of 7 colors is amazing. Variety of vitamins and nutrients. You get the all the flavors in one dish - sweet/sour/salty/bitter etc. I also had the hibiscus house tea which was AMAZING. The staff is lovely. I could tell that the tripe was cooked super well but just isn't something i usually like but my husband ate all of it and almost licked the bowl! If tripe is your thing you will definitely like it. Braai steak was nice and woodsy Smokey with good bbq sauce (but i enjoyed the seven color platter more).

We visited Seven Colours Eatery on a Thursday evening for a work function with our small South African team and members of our UK leadership team. I felt compelled to arrange something with a bit more cultural significance — and Seven Colours absolutely did not disappoint.

As they only open in the evenings for larger bookings, we had the entire space to ourselves, which made the evening feel incredibly special. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely host who introduced us to a selection of delicious starters, paired perfectly with local wines and gins. The starters were absolutely fantastic, and the family-style dining created a relaxed and intimate atmosphere that encouraged conversation and sharing.

The mains, also served family-style, were equally impressive. I tried a bit of everything, and each dish was packed with flavour and prepared with so much care. We also had some special dietary requirements in the group, and the kitchen catered for them beautifully — nothing felt like an afterthought.

Later, we had the pleasure of meeting the talented Chef Nolu, who shared the story and inspiration behind the Seven Colours concept. Her passion and warmth were the perfect finishing touch to what was already an incredible experience.

I highly recommend this restaurant — take your friends, your family, your team — and enjoy this truly magical culinary experience. Support this beautiful,...

You must make your way to Seven Colours Eatery. We are visiting from the U.S. We were looking for authentic South African food. Seven Colours didn’t disappoint. It is the real deal, like the REAL DEAL! Everything on the menu looked delicious, you can’t go wrong. I ordered the special of the day - beef potjie with sorghum and the array of colorful veggies. It took time for the food to arrive - in a good way - so you know you are getting a freshly prepared meal. The food was one of the best authentic meals I have had in a long time. Rich in flavor, bursting with color, and made with love! The staff were friendly and attentive. We had the pleasure of meeting Nolu, the owner. Nolu - keep it going, you’ve got something special. Thank you for giving us the food of your homeland, at a truly reasonable price. FYI - The Eatery closes at 6p so go for...
