I went yesterday to Si Cantina Sociale for lunch. It was empty which was nice to be able to talk and be able to hear one another. They had instrumental versions of popular songs playing which was nice but not blaring. The menu was a bit different to the online menu that I looked at beforehand. I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t have the poppers anymore. The menu has a nice wide variety and even a vegan menu which was great. Although my friend wanted to order the vegan pizza but then there was no vegan cheese and they were out of the vegan dessert which was quite disappointing. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with mushrooms sauce and chip. The chips I didn’t really enjoy but the crumb on the schnitzel and sauce was good. My friend ordered the vegan burger and it was delicious. It didn’t taste like veg at all and was heavily processed. The side salad was disappointing with too much salad dressing and too much lettuce. But the burger made up for it. I wanted to order the crème burle but unfortunately they didn’t have any stock. We ordered the meal a pudding instead which was delicious. The service was good. Atmosphere was pleasant and nice and spacious seating. Other than the lack of stock it was a good experience. I think when they give you the menu they should tell you beforehand what they don’t have in stock. Instead of deciding on something and then being told they don’t have it. I would definitely try it again and see how the other items on the menu are.

Went for a two friends birthday. Was a good evening out. When we phoned to book we mentioned dietary restrictions as one of our friends has severe IBS and other problems and they weren't too enthusiastic about our questions and requests. He landed up just having the chicken. Staff were amazing. Super friendly and great service. The kitchen was pretty fast for an end of month Saturday night. We enjoyed pizza, burgers, tapas and the chocolate brownie. We also had beers and cocktails. We asked for two birthday brownies but only received one with a happy birthday message. I understand that we went on a Saturday evening and the dj was trying to set a vibe but the music was so loud we found ourselves shouting at one another. The tapas or the haloumi was presented in lettuce cups to make it look like more than it was. It was quite a small portion of haloumi. The mojito seemed like mostly ice and lemon that had a small amount of soda added with the alcohol. Wasn't too impressed with the cocktails. Also they allow hooka smoke inside and on cold evenings all the windows and doors are closed so the air ventilation wasn't great. It didn't bother me but may be a deciding factor for someone else with kids.

I came here for a stand-up comedy show, I booked the table and bought tickets (on quicket)beforehand so everything was smooth and easy. The down side though was that it took them close to an hour to prepare the food. Yes, it was a busy night, but... how long could one take to make nachos? The food was good when it finally arrived, and the comedians were brilliant. They have comedy shows on the first Thursday of every month, and tickets are ±R200. I'm giving them a full 5 stars because even though it was an evening show, we were allowed to bring a baby with us. I know most people hate babies in social areas, but I'm so grateful that the new mother could enjoy the show without feeling like an outcast or experiencing judgement. I will definitely be going back for more shows. The host is great as well, very welcoming, and down to earth.

The restaurant itself is beautiful great atmosphere love that it is relatively never full , the service and food were very poor upon arrival we ordered drinks they told us they did not have he ingredients to the drinks we ordered , cool it happens we ordered something else and the drinks were still bad 2 /10 for drinks poorly presented and not balanced in flavour we then ordered food they came 5 minutes after and said the meat they had stored was rotten / seemed off so they would rather not serve that we then order something else 5 minutes after that they came back and said another ingredients was not there for one of the dishes we ordered so at this point we are 20 minutes into the meal that we haven't even eaten i tell the waiter (Who is called Malcom /Tinashe you know what its fine we will just have the drinks and go he says no your other two meals are ready they just dont have all the ingredients at this point i say you know what fine lets taste this , the nachos where stale and beans were canned the cheese was dry and by all means this dish was not a nacho dish , the burger meat tasted slightly off as well and the only half decent thing was the zuchini chips 2/10 the waiter was relatively kind however not attentive i had to ask for coasters and napkins all things that one must offer before hand the manager was barely paying attention to customers upon receiving the bill i thought you know what the experince was terrible and so was the food however let me give this guy at tip cause perhaps his new and they work long ours all that good stuff as am checking the bill i notice this guy already tipped himself and included it in the bill lol so i go up to give him the bill as he is not even paying attention that am done i say thanks i noticed you added your own tip he said yah we do that so am thinking what if i did not have enough money for the tip you just included your own tip e.g R100 over , what if that is not in my budget and i could only give you 50 lol honestly it was a terrible dining experience they place itself is cute but the staff need alot more training and management needs to put in more effort everyone has their bad days and perhaps that was that day for them but based on my experience i would not go back and would not recommended and funny enough as we were leaving a foreign couple asked us oh how was you meal we looking for somewhere to eat and i said do not go there it was horrible which was what i experienced and they turned around and went elsewhere so they lost customers based another customers...

Myself and a friend from outer town went to experience dinner in the Silo district. There was a concert this particular evening so the square was buzzing and the restaurants was fairly packed. I loved the deco and it was a balmy night so the initial impression was #winning. After waiting 20 minutes for sparkling water which arrived tepid and very confused waiters who couldn't really make recommendations on rather varied and pricey wine which was available then not and then all recommendations were towards the most expensive bottles leaving me rather annoyed. Soldier on and focus on the positives I kept telling myself all the while trying to keep a less than happy outer of towner at ease. I ordered the 300g ribeye outer towner si burger with avo. btw we settled for a wine we thought might compliment both dishes. Steak arrived rare as ordered chips were oily shiny oily even in the dim light, steak was not 300g closer to 220g and the cut was questionable re: marbling and the thickness of the cut resembled sirloin and not ribeye the butter sauce missing the waiter committed to ask choice and the pepper sauce was watery and lack bight. Outer towner burger had no avo waiter apologised but failed to fix the omission physically on the bill. Me and outer towner never bothered with desserts or discuss the very forgettable experience which in my opinion could have been money better spent elsewhere. I have obviously emailed the owner to get a response and a week later think it worthwhile for the reader wishing to go here to maybe weigh their options. so grateful to not go for the 400ZAR bottle of wine as this would have left an even more sour taste in my mouth like the tip i left the waiter only because he stepped in for waiter no 1 who was twirling his thumbs. Overall pretty plates and lovely venue but food lacking quality and flavour...

If only I could give this place a '0 star'. Our waiter told us twice 'just 1 sec guys'. After the second time we asked please just take our order of 3 Aperol Spritz, really not that difficult. Drinks arrived after a long wait without the customary orange slice. Fail. Don't have it on the menu if you can't serve it properly. Really haphazard service all over the place and I could see other tables experiencing the same. Our menus didn't list any wine, only food and cocktails. After asking for the winelist 3 times, we eventually got a passed down dirty menu, which really shouldn't be presented to a member of the public. It was filthy. We chose a wine, flagged the waiter down twice. Our first choice was 'not available', for our second choice he mumbled something. We didn't know if we're getting the wine or not. At this point we decided not to order food and just finish the wine to have dinner elsewhere. The wine eventually arrived, but wrong bottle. Came back with the correct bottle. I asked for an ice bucket as we weren't going to guzzle down the bottle immediately. The waiter actually uttered these words: "We're so disorganised, we don't have any ice buckets". Bowl of ice was brought, waited long time for the bill and then major issues with credit cards machines etc. Really bad. We discovered halfway through the evening a private function was on the go inside. They should have closed it to the public or at least warn people beforehand. Really unacceptable...
