Bella Italia fulfilled every wish of mine. I wanted a good amount of protein but I was never able to get an equally big amount of vegetables... until I came here. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and it comes with two/four sides. I picked vegetables and a salad. The vegetables were perfectly, and I mean PERFECT, slightly crunchy, not mushy, and "fork tender." The salad was tossed with some olive oil and topped with pickled onions, olives, cucumbers and tomatoes... So good! My partner got the salmon pizza and he said that it was also the perfect size, not heavy at all. To top it off, we sat next to the window, with a view of the sunset. Also the service was on their game! I am lactose intolerant so I asked if the mushroom sauce had milk/cream/cheese in it and they said yes. They also asked if they should remove the feta from the salad! That's some forward...

As a regular and previously loyal client, I wanted to share some honest feedback regarding your new wine pricing.

Charging R80 for an average red wine by the glass implies a bottle price of around R400 — yet the same bottle is listed at R230. This markup feels excessive and, frankly, leaves a rather bitter taste.

Your house wine is now R75 a glass, and an Aperol Spritz is R90. These prices seem disproportionate and difficult to justify, especially given the quality.

I’ve always appreciated your venue and offering, but these recent changes have been disappointing. I hope you’ll reconsider the pricing structure to reflect better value and retain your regular clientele.

If you’re looking for pizza that’ll make you say “Mamma Mia!”—look no further than Bella Italia Vredehoek. We stopped by for a pizza-only feast, and let me tell you, it was chef’s kiss perfection. 🍕

The dough was just the right balance of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the toppings were fresh, flavorful, also Tuesday is 3 for 2 special which we did not know about!

The atmosphere is charmingly cozy, with just the right touch of Italian flair. The staff were so friendly, and our waitress - toooo cute x
