Fly Cape Town Tandem Paragliding — Attraction in Western Cape

My friends and I raised money for a 50th birthday present and when I went online to pay for the voucher (voucher was emailed over at 22:38) I realised that I had no idea if the company was legit or operating and as I was responsible for all the money Id better check. I looked for their online activity for evidence that they were still operating and couldn't find any Instagram posts in the past 3 years. I was worried so I clicked on the number across the front of the website and asked them if they were still operational. I didnt expect an immediate response of course. I got a response and it was very rude. They were angry that I had messaged so late and were very unpleasant. And still no reassurance. Unless you can pay in person be careful making any online payments.

EDITED / UPDATED: The owner Stefan Kruger called me the next morning and instead of resolving a clearly very simple misunderstanding he was aggressive and threatening. He accused me of being a liar for saying that their website indicates social media postings stopped in 2022. It was perfectly reasonable to ask if they were still operational. I certainly didn't expect an immediate response and presumed Id hear back during working hours. During Stefans call he started to mock me "You see you cant even get your ridiculous story right!" whilst I was trying to explain the above - all because I was breathless when I answered the call (asthma) and kept interrupting with "Your a liar!" and finally told me "You are one of those people - you have a serious problem" At that point it was clear he was getting personal and nasty and was unable to hear what I was trying to say. Wow! What an experience. From the second my Brother (Mishyel) and I got out the car and met up with Eddy we were so warmly and excitedly welcomed by the whole team on our crazy adventure. We met with our paragliding pilots (not sure what to call them but pilots sounds cool) - Fanie and John who were so confident in their skills, and rightfully so, that I think both of us immediately lost all our nerves and just wanted to fly. And then it started, By far the best part was running off Signal Hill to find yourself being lifted up in the sky so smoothly instead of having gravity do it’s natural thing - that feeling is strange and surreal and just so flippen cool! Both Fanie and John did cool tricks with us, told us stories, took such cool photos and this was all done while we were gliding !! In the end we ended up Safely on the ground to again be welcomed and congratulated by more of the team. It all went so fast unfortunately, but that’s what happens when you are having fun ! Taking advantage of the amazing weather on the day, we booked a flight with Fly Cape Town Paragliding for my 16 year old son.

Booking was made easy in spite of us having connection issues with our phones and not being able to receive calls. The team were happy to contact us over WhatsApp to confirm our booking details and give us all the info we needed.

They gave us clear directions from the Waterfront to Signal Point and we received a friendly greeting when we arrived. They were then very happy to wait before commencing the flight to allow us to drive down to Sea Point to watch the descent from there.

I recommend the R300 additional extra of having the flight recorded on the GoPro camera as we got great video footage and loads of stills. These were immediately uploaded on to my phone at the landing site so we could watch the action back right away.

Fly Cape Town enhanced the overall experience and made it even more fun.
