JC Brasserie Pub — Restaurant in District Six

Not the best. We went on a Friday evening for dinner, the place was buzzing and seemed like a great vibe. But we were immediately disappointed as we firstly had to wait for over 2 minutes to be attended to and seated (we’d called to reserve). Upon being seated, our waiter took another age and a half to come take our drinks order. He looked visibly impatient and was just rushing us to speak so he could dash off. He actually did dash off and my partner had to wave him back because at this point we also wanted to order food seeing as how long we had to wait for him to come to us in the first place. The food arrived and was beyond unsatisfactory. The wings were cold and not tasty, my partners 500g ribs were the same size as my 250g ribs (we complained about this and the chef was nice enough to come out and apologise and offer to give us more. It was a nice gesture although my partner kindly declined). When it was time to settle the bill, we were asked to wait about 10 minutes as their system was offline 🫤. It still didn’t get sorted and they resorted to just calculating the total for us manually.

We recently visited JC Brasserie Pub and tried their Full House Burgers, opting for one beef and one chicken—and both were seriously satisfying! The beef patty was juicy and flavorful, while the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. Each burger came fully stacked with crispy bacon, melted cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, and a perfectly fried egg, all packed into a soft, sturdy bun that held everything together.

I’ve been going to JC for about a year now and always have a great experience. The food is fresh, wholesome, and excellent value for money. It’s my go-to local spot — I take all my family and friends who visit me in the city there. Plus, it’s within walking distance from where I live, so that’s a bonus!
