Hey guys. I'm disappointed with the experience at Starlings today. We spent 3hrs with them and it was not enjoyable at all. The potential for a great experience is there, however their service really let them down. I understand that it is a public holiday and that the turn around time is slower than usual, however, I saw my waitress 3 times during my time there. The first was to take my coffee order, the second was to remove my coffee cup and take my meal order, and the third was as we were walking out because the food took 1hr 25mins to arrive. We left our table because a couple who were next to us, arriving 1hr after us, had their food delivered too them before us. The excuse when our food came was that they had disorder in the kitchen, however, the couple next door had the exact same order as us, the only difference being the scrambled eggs. I do not believe that scrambled eggs takes that much longer than a poached egg does. When our coffee cups were removed, there was no offer if we wanted a replacement, our waitress just walked off. Now I understand that the restaurant was full, but the other waiter serving the table opposite us presented himself 7 times to his clients when I started counting (well done to him - youngster with the buzz cut). Now the food that came out the kitchen smelt amazing, its just a pity the service let them down. Another thing, there is a clear distinction between how regulars are treated compared to others - not cool. Its noticeable, and as a service orientated business, I suggest this be looked at. Your clients can feel this. We weren't the only ones disappointed this morning. I wish Starlings well and I hope these issues get turned around. We won't be returning.
