This place is such a disappontment. The first time I visited wasn’t that bad. That’s because I only had their overpriced tacos. I had carne asada tacos, and they weren’t bad at all. However, the subsequent visits got progressively worse. The clincher was their atrocious veggie quesadilla and enchiladas. Just don’t order these things. Veggie quesadilla had very little avocado and just tons of onions. Some cooked and others raw. I guess I am supposed to taste various level of cooked onions on this dish. Where’s the cheese? Incredibly, the chicken and cheese enchiladas managed to top this. It was just nasty. It had cheese that was plain gross. It was neither nacho cheese nor velveeta cheese, but it was just disgusting. There was very litte chicken, and the flavor was mysterious to be polite. If Mexicans ever tasted this food, they would demand that this restaurant removed the word Mexican from their signage. Anyway, it is the only Mexian restaurant on Gwananli that sits on the beach road. There are a couple of other Mexican restaurants, but they are only marginally better. Would I go back? Only if I want to punish myself with terrible food at even worse price. By the way, I an being generous with two stars. I would give one or none if I didn’t have their tacos. Btw, they provide a cilantros at mini bar at no cost, but clearly they are old, not fresh. They probably would throw them out anyway if they dont’t use it up. Cilantro they use on the dishes are...
Read moreI had just arrived in Busan and was walking to an all day brunch spot when I passed El Carnitas, and suddenly Mexican sounded really delicious.
It was a nice day so I grabbed a spot on the patio with a view of the beach. You are given a menu and then you order and pay inside, and the food is brought out to you. They have water and a small condiment bar available for dining guests, which included a couple salsas, cilantro, and jalapeños.
I ordered the queso and chips, and the fajita salad. The queso was a basic queso but hit the spot and the chips were really good. The fajita salad really surprised me and was very fresh with a light and delicious dressing. I added jalapeños and a green salsa from the condiment bar as well. I do wish there was a little more protein (it came with small combination of chicken and steak) but overall perfect portion size.
Was this the best Mexican I’ve ever had? No, but it was really good, tasted fresh, and hit the spot. The service was friendly and the patio...
Read moreI am American and from the south, and being so close to Mexico I've been very spoiled with delicious Mexican food my whole life so I've been sorely disappointed by a lot of "Mexican" restaurants overseas but thankfully this one did not disappoint! We tried one of each of the tacos and I ended up loving the carnitas taco the most, although the carne asada and chorizo were also good. The margaritas were strong and delicious and the price for everything was very reasonable. We liked it so much we went back again on cinco de mayo and luckily only had to wait a little while before getting a table. The staff is friendly and there is a little section up front with like water cups, extra salsa, and cilantro. I highly recommend this place if you are...
