Nammoon Korean Restaurant — Restaurant in Chuncheon-si

We recently dined at Nammoon Korean Restaurant on Nami Island and had a delightful experience with the food. I ordered the 도토리묵밥 (acorn jelly in cold broth), and my husband had the 돌솥 불고기 (bulgogi in a hot stone pot). Both our meals were delicious and full of authentic Korean flavors.

However, we faced some challenges with the service. The staff seemed reluctant to approach us, possibly because they saw my white husband and assumed we didn’t speak Korean. As a result, we had to grab our own water from the jugs near the bathroom because it wasn’t brought to our table. Fortunately, I speak Korean, so we were able to place our order without any issues.

On a positive note, they did pack up our leftovers for us, which is unusual in Korea, and I appreciated that.

Overall, the food quality was excellent, but the restaurant could improve its service for non-Korean...

We wanted something hot since the weather was unusually cold that day, and chose this restaurant because they had many hot soup dishes on display.

The food was a hit and miss. We ordered a hanjeongsik set for two, which came with bulgogi and a hot soup, along with a giant mandu and a seafood tofu stew.

The hanjeongsik set and the mandu were decent, but the seafood tofu stew was tasteless. The amount and types of side dishes felt like the usual banchan you could get at any restaurant, and did not really match the hanjeongsik experience that I had. We also did not like the tea, as it had a strange smell.

Choices on Nami Island are quite limited, and overall, this place...

Great bibimbap! I was so hungry searching for something at least vegetarian and had had enough of pastry and sweets filling my tummy since no vegetarian food easily to find. Then I checked on happy cow and found the restaurant near by had spaghetti and when I was walking there I saw this restaurant and them having two vegetarian/vegan options.
