Waited over an hour telling myself "This better be worth it" and worrying it wouldn't be because everyone else with me was thinking the same thing. It was worth it.
Order the 초두부(초당 순두부 백반) [Plain soft tofu meal] & the 원조짬순 [spicy seafood soft tofu] together. You get more side dishes this way.
The 초두부(초당 순두부) [Plain soft tofu] was good but it was the broth of the 원조짬순 [spicy seafood soft tofu] that makes an impact.
The 원조짬순 [spicy seafood soft tofu] was spicy without being ridiculous and had a slight flamed taste.
For those with a weak stomach for spicey food, order both and add the plain soft tofu to the spicy seafood soft tofu.
Another big plus were the side dishes that came with the 초두부(초당 순두부 백반) [Plain soft tofu meal]. There weren't many, but they were good. The mung bean paste soup and the ground bean gruel were good enough to be sold on their own.

Read moreAfter looking at the naver reviews, we decided to drop by this restaurant as it had the most reviews! Too many sundubu places around here! This definitely didn’t disappoint. We really enjoyed the food.
Jjamsoon (jjampong sundubu) - apparently, this is the first place to make this dish. It was really good! The soup was spicy and fragrant. So addictive! Tofu went well with it! Most locals were having this.
Soft tofu set meal - it seems the most simple and plain, but it was a really good meal! The tofu was light yet tasted fresh and lightly salted. Came with a bunch of sides which were a good pairing.
Good food~ I’ll recommend this place. It’s the most crowded restaurant in the sundubu village (you can just tell by the number of cars parked outside). Recommend to drop by early. We managed to get in without waiting at 10+am, but there was a queue by the time we...
Read moreThere are many soontofu places around here, but the wait is not as crazy as it is here! This particular place came out in many Korean TV programs and uses ONLY ingredients that are grown in Korea. In fact, they have a tofu factory right next to the restaurant where they make tofu themselves. I have to say that the tofu tastes more nutty and different from the typical tofu you'd buy at Korean markets or eat at other restaurants. Their signature tofu is the spicy one that says "원조짬순" (₩9,000), which is patented. Honestly, it wasn't fun waiting around for roughly 40+ minutes with a restless kid and hungry husband, but it was worth the long wait! If you plan on eating here, try to arrive before 10am. It...
